It's been a long while since I last wrote in here, but I guess I've just been really busy. You see, shortly after returning home with Sebastian, Raven, a good friend of mine, asked me to tour with her jazz band; their bass guitar player had recently left the band for personal reasons and they needed a replacement. I'd never played bass before, but I knew how to play guitar and the transition wasn't too difficult, but learning to read bass clef was a pain. That's where I've been ever since and man it's been one heck of a ride. We've played in Barton, Durem, Aekea, Gambino Isle, and so many other places I can't even remember them all.

Other than the concerts, nothing too terribly exciting happened, except for one thing. You see Todd, the drum player, had some... freaky experiences concerning Sebastian. Occasionally he'd be missing a drum stick or something and I'd discover it on my bed in the hotel room, next to Sebastian. At first, he'd blame me for the "thefts", despite Raven's defense of my character and my own protests of innocence, until one night when we went out to celebrate, leaving Sebastian on my bed behind my locked door. When we got back to the hotel, we heard a cymbal crash coming from Todd's room. Curious, we went to investigate it and found that the drum set that Todd had packed up before we left was assembled next to his bed, with Sebastian sitting on the seat and the cymbal still ringing on its stand.

After that, Todd and the other band members, with the exception of Raven, refused to even stay in the same room as Sebastian, claiming that he was cursed or something. I was forced to leave him in my hotel room during gigs, where before I'd taken him with me. His smile had seemed to get just a bit wider after he'd listened to a song that we played, especially the ones with the drum solos. I swear his eyes just seemed to sparkle when they eyed those drums. After I started leaving him in the hotel room, his smile seemed to shrink until he seemed depressed. Todd's behavior finally got to the point that Raven told me privately that she had found another bass player and that she was really grateful for all my help, but she felt that it was best if I just went home. So I packed up my things and Sebastian and I headed back home to good old Gaia.

I still haven't gone back to that shop where I got Sebastian, I probably should, but I'm just too busy right now, I'll get around to it.... eventually.

We've been home for awhile now, but Seb's face has been mournful ever since I had to start leaving him in the hotel room. I was out shopping, Kou at my side and Seb poking out of my messenger bag/purse. As I past the toy section, Seb slipped out of my bag and onto one of the displays; I might not have even noticed if Kou hadn't grabbed at my pant leg with his teeth. Looking back, I noticed that Seb had landed next to a set of bongo drums, one big low drum connected to a smaller one by a piece of wood. Seeing that they were on sale, I decided to go ahead and buy the set thinking that they'd make a great decoration piece.

Once I got home though, I just couldn't resist playing a nice slow jazz like rhythm on the bongos. As I played, I noticed that same glimmer in his eyes that he had the last time he heard Todd play. After playing around with the bongos a bit, I think I might have a really cool idea for a piece with acoustic guitar with bongo accents. Too bad there's no one else to play the bongos, none of my pets seem to have the right rhythm for it, or else they're just not equipped to play them at all. Oh well, I guess that's what recording equipment is for, lol.

Most of my pets seem to enjoy music and art as much as I do, it's my vent, my way of letting things out when there doesn't seem to be any way to express them at all. I don't know what I'd do without my guitar, it's the voice of my heart. There have been a couple of nights when I just sat and played my heart out in front of whatever pets happened to be laying around, especially Seb. There are some nights when I have my amp cranked up so loud that his head just bobs along with the beat, oddly enough, he only seems to bob on the down beat of each measure, no matter how abrupt or subtle the note is.

There's definitely something odd about this plush, I feel like he can understand me, like he cares, so, odd as it sounds, I've been confiding to him, mostly through my songs, singing ti him when I can find the words, but mostly just through the voice of music and song, the purest form of expression I know.
