Ok... I was wondering if you can use the same effects pedals for a bass as a regular sixstring. Also... has anyone used an Envelope Filter, and are they any good?

Well, I use a Sovtek Big Muff Pi, and I'm pretty sure that was designed for guitar. Bass players love it though because it's a fuzz pedal without a compressor built in.

yeah I know a few metal bass players who use guitar overdrive pedals.

Yep....Regular guitar pedals work for bass. anything with a 1/4 inch jack really. ive tried them with keyboards. the only thing ive found with keyboards thats any fun though is wah lol. oh and envlope filters. Digitech makes a nice one. its also a bass synth. i use one. i like it its fun when playing slap mostly for me. the way you know it is as i would call the green digitech bass pedal lol

man i have an envolope filter from digitech and that shits fun to mess with! lol prolly wont actualy come in handy for a song though.
