So it seems the test that I took under unfair conditions was not taken into account. Because we've had...what, three quizzes after that one? And we've got all of those back already. All the other classrooms got the test back after two days, except mine, and it's been a week.
So it seems everything worked! A friend (from another classroom, I must point out...) wrote a letter to the principal, and got my classroom and even people from other classroom to sign. biggrin She's such a great friend! <3~
So I'll tell you a long story. OK, not so long, but it is....actually, it is longer that I'm probably thinking. All right, to the point already. Being in this mood makes me wander off into other things, so bear with me.
So I have these Spanish lessons, because the government believes that we're stupid enough to need them despite it being our mother tongue. So. There's this teacher, whom everybody knows about at their entrance to Middle School because she is supposed to be a very mean teacher. WELL. She's my Spanish teacher.
Now, Spanish is a language I'm pretty good at, from what you might infer. I'm not only fluid at speaking it; I have a wide vocabulary, perfect spelling, and great grammar usage. It sounds like bragging, but it's true. I am the third place in my whole State (where the third most populated and important Mexican city is) in general knowledge (for the '93 generation), and I have a medal for being the best student in school.
I've had the highest average in my classroom in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade. Everyone knows me for being a responsible student. Every teacher at school knows me because of the same reason; every teacher at school also knows my one-year-older sister because she was the same. I HAVE A REPUTATION.
Well, so the Spanish teacher made us read these epic poems. Well, it's a single one, which is divided into three parts. It is from the seventh century of something, which makes it very difficult to understand; besides, each part of the poem is at least a thousand verses long. We've read the first two parts and made summaries for homework.
She told us we'd have a quiz on the poem on Thursday. We had the quiz today. Needless to say, no one in the classroom knew a thing. We figured out that the highest score anyone got would be about 40.
Now, I find it unfair that she tells us that she will give us time to study when she won't. What irks me even further is that she won't listen to us when we talk to her.
Do you know what's the ONLY thing that can make me cry in front of someone? When an unfair act is carried out, and there's no way to fix it.
So, reputation and all, she didn't believe me when I told her that she had said the quiz was on Thursday. I even got the guy with the second highest grades at school to go with me. She didn't even let us talk. During her talk with us, she even said that one guy from my classroom had gone to her the day before and asked her what the homework was. She told us she told him that it was only look up some glossary definitions. That's all. What about "Study for the test"? If it were true that she told us to study, she would have told him, wouldn't she?
Now, I don't really care about a grade if I deserved. Heck, I even got a perfectly round zero in the first Language Arts exam two weeks ago, because I didn't read the story I was supposed to read. Fair enough. It was my fault, so why shouldn't I have that grade? Besides, it's only affecting me. Well, this grade is one I didn't deserve. I really don't care about it if it only affected me, but my classmates were also affected. I feel sorry for them, most people in my grade have had 70+ grades in Spanish, this will decrease any good grade and make the students who can't manage Spanish fail.
I want justice. I want the teacher to listen to me, why would I lie if a stupid quiz score won't damage my perfect Spanish score by a significant amount? At least for the rest of the people in my classroom, I want justice.

That really really sucks sad Everyone can tell their parents, or the principal, that might help to get someone higher up involved. At my schools most of the teachers had another teacher who was their supervisor, if thats the case with your school you could find your teacher's supervisor and tell her/him. Even if it doesnt get this past quiz score fixed it should make it so this doesnt happen again.

Well, whatever you do, do NOT start a petition (IN/AT school, at least). I was almost suspended for it, because something similar involving a Social Studies teacher back in 7th grade.
Feel free to get other students' inputs (OFF SCHOOL GROUNDS) as well as parents, and even other teachers and administrators, if you're on friendly enough terms.
If you can get a parent to talk with the principal, something MIGHT get done, but probably not likely... seeing as how the school has put up with said teacher... she's probably buddy buddy with a lot of people... as happens a lot in a normal workplace... and getting her enemies on your side won't help much...
However, if you can get a group of PARENTS to go to a School Board meeting, and they all complain about a teacher at the school... Well, it won't take long, usually, before someone does SOMETHING... generally to keep their job... (they're elected, so the last thing they want is someone saying that they're not encouraging good teaching... and provide HER as an example. And then the principal's job is at stake from the board... and as they say "s**t rolls downhill"... and that teacher will be at the bottom...
And if you and most/all of the other students can drop the class (with parent approval)... well.. they'll find something to do about it too... o.o
Of course, even with this.. the most likely scenario is that you're not going to be able to do anything... So, chalk it up to crap that you've got to deal with... work through it till the class is over, and move on. And if it really bothers you, when you're older, make sure to discourage parents from sending their kids to that school.
And yeah, I know, bad teachers suck. Course, if you can take actions to give her some stress at school, it might make you feel better... ^_^

The score won't be fixed, I'm sure of that.
Sibby Oh, there's been complaints from parents before. Actually, that teacher taught a friend's father, in the old times when teachers were allowed to hit students. ...go figure out how old she is. o.o
We can't drop the class, because we get no electives at my school. It's Language Arts, German, Physics, Chemistry, Spanish, German, P.E., Integral Human Development, Social Studies (aka World History), Civics, Algebra [1], Art, and Model United Nations.
I don't want to get on the teacher's bad side, either, so I'm just sticking with flunking the quiz with a 20 or something.
Nymphie We'll try to send a letter to the principal, and have my classroom sign it. It'd be great if we had a supervisor, but in our case, we don't. sad

it'd probably be better if your parents sent the letter to the principal, imo.
teachers and faculty, from what i've seen, tend to be hyped up on authority and are too afraid of losing face in front of the other adults to listen to the kidlings.
it sucks that teachers can pull this s**t and get away with it, but sometimes there's nothing you can do and you've just gotta grit your teeth and deal.
i know, it's no fun. i had a principal/teacher who was a total d**k, but in the end dealing with him helped me prepare for the a*****e prof i had last year.
