Kale Bellator sauntered casually out of his room, ignoring the unfamiliar feeling he got from being inside his own home. 'It's not like Kani is going to ditch me on my birthday,' he thought smugly, not in any particular hurry as he made his way towards the bathroom. Brushing the taste of sleep from his mouth, Kale glared at his reflection. More often than not, this was the expression he wore. "Hideous." He spoke of his pale skin, which needed sunlight, and the steel of his eyes. There was no emotion in them, they were simply colorless. Which made him wonder absently if that was because was meant to be an empty shell, colorless and controlled.
"Phff, listen to yourself. You're ridiculous." With that he stepped into his marble shower. Turning the heat in the shower up so much it steamed, the wizard scrubbed himself harshly in disgust. He hated nothing more than the seemingly countless days spent in the too large, too empty manor. With his grandfather. Who wanted nothing more from Kale than to have someone continue his dark, tainted work. It disgusted him. So Kale washed away it all in his near flesh burning showers.
Stepping from the tiled shower, Kale wiped the fog from the mirror. Finally, finally there was some color to him. A bit of pinkness to his skin from his wash. Wrapping the towel around his waist and leaving his dripping, midnight hair stuck to his skin, Kale Bellator returned to the privacy of his room. In the dim light, he dried himself and pulled on silk black boxers. "Only the best." He whispered with harsh sarcasm. Then throwing on a black Guns & Roses t-shirt with nice fitting jeans, Kale shoved his wand in his back pocket while exiting his room.
Now standing before the wide fireplace, that sizzled with smoldering ashes, Kale sighed blissfully, ready to see his friend. With Darty spending the night at a friend's place, the Slytherin didn't have to worry about leaving her with no company. So escaping the manor didn't place a weight on his shoulders. This time. So tossing the powder into the pit and watching the green flames erupt, Kale let his usual smirk slide into place as he stepped through. "The Doyle's Cottage!" Saying the Doyle's Cottage was always quite ironic. Because, though it most definitely had the warmth and look of a cottage, it was enormous. Definitely not one would imagine when they thought 'cottage.'
Arriving in a spectacular room, Kale took in the sight. Normally he didn't feel quite so 'at home,' no matter how many times he visited his Ravenclaw friend. Not because Kanita's home wasn't warm and inviting, but because he wasn't use to feeling the warmth of being welcomed. But this room, right now, was perfect. Not entirely empty and cold, like his own manor, but it was decorated to his taste. The monotonous color scheme and faint lighting, exactly how he preferred it. Though he never got so creative as to throw in fog or fireflies, the idea was a good one that he tucked away for later consideration. Perhaps his room needed to be remodeled...
"Well, what to we have here?" What he thought to be just one-on-one time with Kani seemed to, in all actuality, be a small gathering of those close to him. Though, knowing Kani, this was not the last of the guest. But he supposed he ruined the surprise by showing up half an hour early...Kale simply couldn't wait in his house any longer. Distancing himself from the soot ridden fireplace, Kale walked closer to the circle of girls. His dark hair and smoke silver bangs hung over his eyes, the longest strands nearly brushed his collar. He achieved an unpracticed look of sophistication and elegance that his mischievous eyes complemented well, glittering a stormy grey beneath his lingering strands of hair. Brushing soot off, Kale's lips curved into an inviting, dark smirk.
"Sorry to spoil your plans Kanita, just couldn't bare the wait." Waltzing over to the witch as if his early presence didn't cause a problem in her plans for a Surprise Party at all, Kale flashed a charming smile and pulled Kani into a hug. With his lips closer to her ear, he whispered a real apology that went unheard to the others. Few knew it was all simply a front, a mere mask to hide behind. Kale’s entire life was full of a darkness that the happy families surrounding him would have no way of understanding. And that's how he kept it...around most people.
A darkness filled the hollowness of his soul, full of abandonment and desperation. Sure, many believed his life was ideal and Merlin he had his fair share of girls, but there was still an emptiness that lingered. And the rare moments when he could truly let down his guard with his friends made him realise how that emptiness ached just a little less. But even friendship wasn't enough to appease the 'selfish brat.' Corny as if was, his heart needed more. But what that was, was still a mystery to him.
"And Ascella, Vlaityn, good to see such becoming witches. Truly a treat." About to gently brush a strand of hair behind Cella's ear, Kale's attention was snagged away. He shot an amusing glance at the restless Pippa and prancing Dexter. "Kani, I see you booked our entertainment for the night. How thoughtful." He gave Pippa his best grin and nodded simply to her, "Miss Pippa, please, don't feel as though you must hold yourself to the norms of society. After all, then I'd miss your...unique charm." Kale stared curiously at Pippa before turning back to the three girls, deciding whatever weighed on her mind, she would bring to is attention when she was ready.
Upon returning his attention to the group of witches, Kale noticed it expanded. Two more girls joining the room. The more people, the less Kale felt comfortable, so his walls were less likely to come down. Of course, Kanita was full aware of this, 'How could she not be?' And he newshe wanted him to "Just get use to it," as she so bluntly puts it. "Ah, Morgan and," quickly recalling the name, though he didn't quite know her on a personal level, "Moira. Thank you for showing up. Happy birthday to me." A wisp of a playful smile graced his lips. Moving closer to Morgan, Kale embraced her affectionately, for it had been much too long. "I expect presents and cake, lots." The quirk in his lips was the only tell-tale sign that he wasn't serious, though now his attention was drawn to the gifts held by Ascella and Pippa. But not to be lacking in manners, Kale didn't tear them open as he so wished to... Sometimes, the little boy in him did flicker to life.
[[Tried to include everyone in the post, sorry I couldn't give proper greetings. Too much at once. I'll be back online Tuesday to continue this!]]

Moira smiled when Kale entered the room. They weren't very close, but he had always been nice to her, and she was glad to be included in the surprised..sort of. Judging by his enterance, the surprised had been minimal, if at all. Reaching into a small pocket expertly placed on her tiny dress, Moira pulled forth an envelope, fingering it thoughtfully. Inside was a gift certificate for her father's shop. She hoped that it would be acceptable. It seemed that the boy had enough money to spend on a broom service, but rich or poor, everyone liked something for free. Hearing her name, Moira looked up at Kale and gave a big smile. "Happy Birthday to you indeed!"

Ah, there was that familiar voice. Morgan turned from Kani to see Kale enter the room. The guest of honor made his way over to the group. A quick survey of his features showed he was surprised, but not terribly so. She smiled at him as he greeted her in turn, taking in the way he said her name. The redhead returned his embrace warmly and gladly. This was the first time they were able to see each other since the school year had ended last. It had been a lonely summer.
At Kale's mention of presents, Morgan noticed that her hands were empty. "...! I know I had it when I arrived..." Her eyes searched the ground at her feet and traced the path she had walked. "Ah, bună. There it is." A few feet from the fireplace lay her purse. Trotting over to it, she scooped it up and carefully inspected the contents. Wand, gift, and other purse necessities all in once piece, thank Merlin. That would teach her for not keeping a proper grip on her things while Flooing.
She took out the delicately wrapped present and placed the bag on a nearby table. With the gift in hand, Morgan carefully walked back to the group. Admittedly she was a bit nervous about how Kale would receive the gift. She had decided to go against purchasing him something generic and instead opted to hand make him a picture frame. One of the craftsmen in her hometown had helped her with the woodworking. Many days and a few scars later, Morgan had whittled a Golden Snitch into the top left corner of the frame with goal posts reaching up the right side. It was far from perfect, but she was proud of it and hoped Kale would be intrigued at least. Into the frame she put a photo of the Slytherin team after they had won the House Cup last year. It moved in typical wizard fashion, forever replaying that proud moment.
"This is for you. La mulţi ani, Kale." Morgan presented him with the silver wrapped gift. "Er, I mean, happy birthday." She flushed a tad at slipping into Romanian in front of the group. If it was just with Kale or Kani, she didn't mind. But somehow it made her feel foolish if she didn't hide her accent in front of others.

Kani let loose a pearl of laughter at Vlaityn's simply modest comment, shaking her head at her friend till she could breath normally again. "Mh, I'll have to buy some better quality stuff then, the sun sucks the water from my skin. So I'm completely un-ravishing." Making a dramatic expression of horror and flinging the back of her hand to her forehead, Kani also stuck a pose, leaning theatrically against Vlaityn. Then tisk-tisking her fellow Ravenclaw playfull, Kanita righted herself, eyeing the shot glass indesicively. 'Perhaps a bit wouldn't hurt...' Her thoughts trailed off as Ascella's comment entered her ears, pricking interest.
"Ooohh, I simply adore weddings! Though I've never been a maid of honor, you have me jealous Cella." And truly, Kanita Doyle was jealous. Very much so. For this adventure-seeker loved trying out everything, no matter what, and she had yet to participate so intimately in another person's wedding. "But that's alright, I'll forgive you as long as I get to be the Maid of Honor in your wedding. And hmmmm, I wonder who the groom might be." Teasing the Slytherin witch, Kani gently nudged her elbow against Cella's, giving the smallest snort-laugh as her eyes turned to observing Dexter's frolick with a crooked grin.
In rapid recession, Pippa, Morgan, Moira and Kale all entered the room in some fashion or another. Their presence caused that little, lopsided smile to spread fully across her lips and up to her eyes, making them sparkle with delight. "ALOHA! Oh this is brilliant. Well, almost," She gave a false, evil sneer to Kale. Though he ruined the full blast that the surprise could have been, all that mattered was he was here now. And OHHH did she miss him. Terribly so. So the whispered apology was really no need as kani took the opportunity to hug him wholeheartedly back. "I absolutely forgive you, though it's against my will." She smiled softly before letting go so he could greet the others.
"Oh Pippa," Kanita sang, "so glad to you made it. I don't get to normally see as much of you as I'd like, you know, being in different years and houses. But I always did like your quirky ways. Aaand," She stretched her arm over the Hufflepuff's shoulder to pull her closer, "I love that your different." For some reason, Kani had the urge to reassure the slightly-other-worldly girl that even though there were many who spoke of the Pip's odd habits as lunacy, Kanita merely believe it was extreme individualism. With that, she planted a smooch right on the younger witch's cheek. "So don't conform!" Taking a sudden, dominant stance, kanita's arms planted themselves on her hip as she stood tall and proud. As though she were about to take on the world without fear. Only able to hold the serious position for a moment before breaking into silent laughs, her now-watery eyes locked with Pippa's. "But I'm serious, don't loose yourself just because others aren't as comfortable in their own body." And she left the tiny blond with that thought.
About to launch herself at Morgan, hesitation captured her, freezing kanita in place. '...I'll let Kale do some catching up and present opening...' Slightly resistant to saving her welcome to Morgan for later, Kani finally dashed away. Putting it in her memory to snatch Morgan away for herself later. After all, she hadn't seen the girl in forever and a day as well. But right now Kanita really needed a drink, "Greeting people is alot of work!" Kani commented to Moira with a smile before starting for the punch bowl.

Ascella managed a small smile to the two guests as they arrived. Morgan of course, a fellow slytherin, however Ascella never seemed to have much of a connection to the red headed snake. A few moments later, another red head arrived, however, Ascella didn't recognize the girl, though, she presumed that she was not a slytherin. To...Cheery to be a slytherin. At Kanita's comment about the wedding, Ascella turned a light shade of pink. That was to far in the future for her to eve think of. "Yes, weddings are very lovely, though, I can't make you any promises. It's to soon for that. Definately..." Her voice was soft, quiet, and shy, the rosiness of her cheeks still showing on her face. As Kale entered the house, Ascella immediately turned her head to the fireplace. Guns and Roses. I should have guessed that one. No matter how old they are, they will always be a classic. Looking over the tall, pale figure that was Kale Bellator, Ascella couldn't help but blush, her mind always straying from friendship to more. That wont happen. I think I'd have a better chance at slinging Dexter, or Kathos, or even Sean. Though, I don't think I could ever like Sean like that. I barely like him as it is. As the small pale female floated back to reality, Ascella really didn't know what she was supposed to do. Out of everyone there, Cella felt the most out of place, the only time she felt like partying, was when she had more than three shots of firewhisky, and there was no chance that she would drink any of the spiked punch. Turning her attention back to Kale, and the rest of the people in the house, Ascella stood up, her gifts in her hands. Luckily, since her hands were wrapped around something that was rather large, her shaking hands were next to unnoticeable. "Happy Birthday Kale." Her words were soft, and she doubted that he herd her, but that didn't matter. He would hear the same words, over, and over, and over again. Ascella left her boxes on the couch cushion, her senses were fully aware of the stray strand floating next to her face. With a small motion, Ascella left the room, going into the only bathroom she could find. Looking at her hair, Ascella let out a small sigh, feeling rather irritated that she had even spent so long.Out of shear hatred for her hair, Ascella just tore out all of the bobby pins, letting her hair fall from the neat updo, and letting it float rather messily down to her shoulders. Taking all of the bobby pins and holding them in between her lips, Ascella ran her fingers through her long blond hair. In front of the large mirror, Ascella felt rather small, almost like she always did. Why did I even aggree to come to this party. I'll just be a party pooper, acting like I'm depressed. I'm not depressed am I? I just don't like crowds. Lots of people. I think the only reason I came was to wish Kale a Happy birthday, since I was to afraid to invite him to my house for dinner. I should go home after a while. Maybe if I just...No. I couldn't just give him a hug and leave. That would be rude.
After brushing her fingers through her hair, and placing the bobby pins along the hem of her dress, Ascella left the bathroom, her long hair back into it's normal loose style. Her steps were even and graceful as she reentered the main room. The first thing she grabbed was the bottle of firewhisky, pouring it into a shot and downing it in a matter of moments. Screw it. I need to be a little more lucid.

Sophie let out a soft gasp as she peered at the time. The party has already started without her. I'm going to be late! A loud sigh arose from her mouth, now rushing to get everything in her somewhat huge black laptop bag. A green box accented with a silver bow appeared in her bag, obviously being Kale's birthday present. A quick glance at the mirror and she was off to the fireplace with Floo Powder already in her hand.
"The Doyle Resident!" she had spoke out loud and clearly as she threw the powder to the ground. Flames bursted up and around her, accompanying a spinning movement. A few seconds later she was well and alive beside The Doyle's Fireplace. A cough arose in her throat, releasing itself into the room. From all the commotion appeared a slender blonde haired girl. A knee lengthed black summer vintage dress with a white bow, accompanied with black high top converse as well as an odd crescent dangling from her neck. Not much was done with the blonde hair but it was pulled up into a pony tail, leaving bangs down, with natural curls cascading down to the middle of her back. It looked pretty casual.
As she brushed off the ash from her dress, she gave a nice little grin to everyone in the room. Thankfully I'm just in time! The room had taken her words away, replaced with a full blown smile. It looks marvelous, just what Kale would want. "Looks like Kani had to go all out." Kale had approached her eyesight. "Aw man! The birthday boy arrived already?!" Sophie had given a dramatic pouting look. She giggled at the thought of how she imagined how she would look in her head."Well Happy Birthday Kale!" A few hugs were exchanged with the others as she made her way over to the table to place her gift for Kale. I hope he likes it... The thoughts had driven the corners of her mouth to lift.
Turning away from the table, another blonde girl had appeared by the drinks. It was never the less Ascella! "Ascella!" she hissed excitedly, being a bit over excited to see her. The converse shoes tapped against the ground as she rushed over to hug the blonde girl. She wrapped her arms around her and embraced her lovingly. A hint of firewhiskey was on Ascella's breath, leaving Sophie to giggle a bit. "Drinking I see? Didn't you do that enough over the summer! You drink like a fish!" The back of her hand rested on her forehead and the other one resting on Ascella's shoulder, dramatically falling a bit. "Oh whatever shall we do?!" A giggle arose from her throat, which now was a bit dry. At least I don't drink! Now disengaging from the embrace, she slowly grabbed a cup and poured some punch into it. The poisoned punch rushed down her throat leaving a fiery aftertaste in her throat. Her eyes widened as she downed another cup of punch to quake the fiery aftertaste, which still stayed. An odd funny feeling had came upon her, making her tilt to the side a bit.
Sophie groaned loudly, now looking suspicious at everyone. "Hey! What is in the punch?! It tastes horrible!" Dropping the cup with a look of disgust, she had immediately grabbed her wand out of bag. A few mutters were spoken then, unexpectedly the bowl of punch turned into a dazzling flower pot. Mouth dropping open, she immediately stowed her wand back into her bag, hoping no one would've saw that. She placed herself onto a random green seat, trying to get the weird feeling to wear away. What WAS that stuff? Sophie groaned to herself, but suddenly started laughing for no reason at all!

'Well, he did show up. Ponderings were wrong. 'Magine that.'
A somewhat ironic smile slid across Vlaityn's face as the birthday boy himself showed up, looking as sophisticated as ever, even for his casual attire. An intimidating character, that was for sure, but still. A well beloved figure none the less.
"Happy birthday, Kale. And many happy returns. And gifts. All that stuff, yah know." Shooting him one last languid smile, Vlaityn watched in amusement as Kale was bombarded with other greetings and more gifts. 'He'll not have a thought to himself tonight.' With a good humored sigh, Vlaityn edged away from the more congested area to observe the rest of the group was currently filtering in. 'Moira, Sophie, Morgan, Pippa. Folks from all walks of life I guess. Eclectic. But a good group.'
Making her way to the drinks, Vlaityn rolled the glass of Firewhiskey Dexter had set out for her in her hands. Before actually lifting it to her mouth, Vlaityn saw Ascella enter back into the room, still as elegant as ever, but her hair was down. 'And looking a bit blue.' Vlaityn only frowned. It wasn't her place to pry, after all. Attempting to shake if off, she smiled toa few of the people trickling in.

Ascella jumped rather quickly at the sound of her name. 'Ascella!' was all she herd before she even noticed that a rather pretty blond girl was standing in front of her, giving her a hug. I just got hugged by a girl whom I don't remember. Oh dear. Wait. that hair, those shoes....Sophinetta! "Aaah! Sophienetta!" With that little bit of Firewhisky in her system, she had spoken in her french accent. "You look lovely! I love your shoes by the way. Though, I would really, really like a pair. DO you know where I can get a pair of yellow shoes like that?" Her smile was rather wide, her cheeks slightly red as she looked at the blond girl who was just slightly taller than her.
Watching Sophie take a drink of the punch, Ascella thought to herself that she should have stopped her, but the alcohol talked her out of it, and Ascella just let her drink the punch. With a shake of her head, her hair falling around her face, Ascella smiled at Sophie, watching her take a seat over by the couch.
Today has been...Interesting. I really think I need to go home soon, Allen needs help with something. Okay, I just really need to go to bed. Though, I really want to see if Kale likes his gift. I hope he did. That Fedora was really nice, and the cuff links...
With a small sigh, Ascella walked rather lightly over to a seat, her dress flowing around her legs neatly, the dark of the color making her skin seem, even more pale. Crossing her legs on the seat, Ascella laid her hands down on her lap, her fingers gently resting against eachother as she let her eyes drift to the floor.
I really am a party pooper aren't I.

Anna, usually one to make a loud entrance, slipped in through the front door in a way she hoped was quite inconspicuous. As she was late. Extremely late. And she couldn't be sorrier. First off she was invited to Kale Bellator's eighteenth birthday party, not only was he now an adult in the Wizarding World, but in the Muggle World, too, and she had the nerve to arrive late. And not fashionably late or anything of the sort; why, she wouldn't be at all surprised if she were fourteen thousand hours late to his party and they'd already delved into the supply of fire whiskey without her! Of course, should she be so lucky! The cake'd most likely be gone, too. Cake was her favorite part of birthday parties, you know. Well, aside from tackling the person eighteen (or whatever number) different times when they weren't suspecting it. Yeah, the latter was definitely her favorite.
But she might have to make an exception with Kale, as she didn't know him that well. Or even at all, really. The only thing she was certain of was that he was devilishly handsome, or so the girls in her dorm had exclaimed frantically night after night last year ever since quidditch season came around and he'd been spotted without his shirt on due to apparently 'hot weather'. Bah, she didn't believe any of it for a moment, even if her roommates were total preppies.
She slipped her gift on the table and smoothed imaginary hair off her shiny gray pants. She huffed, pushing her hair behind her ear and took a seat on the couch next to Ascella. She'd always seemed nice enough, and, well, by the smile of the whiskey on her breath, she probably wouldn't yell at her.
"Hello, Ascella." She offered, smiling pleasantly, wondering in the back of her mind if this girl even knew who she was.

Spying the table with Kale's gifts piled on it, Moira excused herself from his side and placed the envelope with the rest. She still felt a bit nervous as far as whether or not it was enough, but she meant well. Her attention was drawn to the couch nearby when she saw Anna sit down. Strange. I never heard her come in. Smoothing her hands down her dress absently, Moira scanned the room, coming to a stop at Kani and the punch bowl. She slid over to the bowl and peeked in. The blonde haired girl had warned previously that it wasn't good.

For the past few minutes, there really wasn't much Ascella was doing, or wanted to do. That is, nothing she wanted to do with all those people there. Tapping her fingers in a simple, yet repettative pattern on her leg, Ascella looked around the room. There had only been one new arrival, one that Ascella didn't realize until she was sitting right next to her. Not realy in the mood to talk, but not wanting to go out of her way to be rude/catty/irratable, Cella looked at the girl who's name escaped her. Luckily, Ascella did not have to answer anything before the girl herself spoke. "Hello Ascella." Was all that came out of her, but her tone was almost painfully pleasant. Ascella was not quite in the mood to be pleasant, but several of her friends might frown upon her if she were to do anything to rude. With a rather pleasant smile, or at least her attempts at a pleasant smile, Ascella turned her attention to the rather small Gryffindor girl. "Why Hello." Her smile almost looked like it pained her, yet it still looked rather pleasant. Part of Ascella was glad that someone that she didn't know was talking to her, the other part wanted just to sit there and sulk.

Anna offered her a polite smile again, though it was a tad more genuine this time 'round. She interpreted the smile as, well, a smile, though it wasn't quite as genuine as she was used to. Rather, Anna hung out with her small group of friends, and she did rather have a talent to make any number of them laugh, so she was rather unused to this. This, this forced happiness. "Are you quite alright?" She asked, mild, human concern in her voice. "You look a bit pale, Cella." She placed a somewhat awkward hand on her shoulder, curious now.
She and Ascella had never really been close, this much was evident. Not only was Cella a year ahead of her, but Gryffindors and Slytherins had never really had a reputation for getting along. In fact, it all dated back to the time of Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin. Slytherin was arguing furtively with the other founders that only pure blood students should be aloud to attend, but Gryffindor persuaded the other founders (Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw) to allow muggle borns. Half-bloods? Well, goodness, they didn't exist back then. Though now a days they were common, she often wondered what would become of a half-blood in the days of the founders. Her mother was a muggle born, and though she put a stain on the memory of Hermione Granger, the Gryffindor Muggle Born, even if her mother was a Hufflepuff, and her father a pure blood. Which, obviously, made Anna a half-blood. If Salazar had succeeded, her mother would've never been inducted, Clarice would've never met Bruce, and Anna would've never been born.
Part of her thought this grand; her poor dad wouldn't have to live with the horrible memories of her mother. And, she thought, if she had the choice to go back in time and stop it all, would she? More often than not the answer was yes. But that was Anna. Self-sacrificing for those she cared about most. Damian, Pippa, Selena, and everyone, they would've never known her. She would've never been born and they could all be happy without her... Sure, she would've never learned magic, but she would've never been born. And, as they say, one cannot miss what one has never experienced. And, she supposed, that included one's own life. ....
She forced her train of thought to a stop right there. Not about to have break down in the middle of Kale's eighteenth, she forced herself not to be subjected to Tashina again, after all these years, and offered another smile at Ascella. "I know we haven't been terribly close, but I'll try to help you." She withdrew her hand from the girl's shoulder and folded it in her lap, struggling to maintain a pleasant disposition. 'Don't cry, don't cry, dammit eyes, don't cry!' She was succeeding, at least for the moment. She screwed her eyes shut, took another deep breath, and flounced over to the refreshment table. Procuring herself some "punch", or at least that's what one would assume it was, though in fact she knew it was fire whiskey, she downed a quarter of the cup, the burning sensation somehow soothing.
'Thank Merlin.'
