WillWintter only if you believe in god, thats what that means he did not say that ours is the only one with life, the operative phrase was "that we know of"

What does beleiving in god have to do with viewing this as the best of all worlds?

the quote "this is the best of all possible worlds" is taken to be optomistic, yet he meant god wouldnt make a lesser world than possible. even voltaire messed it up

Isn't god supposed to be omnipotent; that would mean, that he would create the best possible world since it is possible for him.

There you would have to go into a serious theological discussion which I am not prepared to, nor willing to go into. This is one of the, if not the best possible worlds because of the mere fact that it supports ecological systems.

right now the statement that this is the best of all possible worlds is correct to us as humans. I am certain that an equal or better world exists somewhere, but we have not found it.
Also I believe that god created the universe, not just our block. I believe He created all the planets and some of them will never support life, a good chunk of them will or do or have supported life. He did not create the universe for Himself, He could exist without a physical plane on which to reside.
