Who: naggeela’s kitsu Jayn & Nagga (I think) & Trel’s kitsu Hemi & Sothis Lupin What: Hemi’s bringing his little brother over to visit his friend Where: naggaela’s home. Or outside it rather. When: after Sothis & his litter sisters were born (duh) while they’re still kits. Sometime around when Hemi’s sister Liliana is having her second litter but not during (Hemi wants to make sure he’s nearby when it happens in case they need him). Perhaps a month or so after Hemi & Jayn first met. First week of September 2008. Why: Something’s happened to Jayn, but as far as the Lupins know this is just a visit to see a friend. The kit yawned casually and flipped a paw through his unruly curls, already in a haphazard manner. His still kit-blue eyes were mere slits peering at the sky above while listening to his older brother talk about the kitsu they were going to see. Something about ivy. The sky was as bright baby blue as his ride’s eyes and today was covered in fluffy but thick white clouds that moved by a high early-September wind. They mottled the sun shinning though so that it alternated sunny and shaded. Between large cream and bronze colored wings Sothis Lupin lay calmly back-to-back on the larger light chocolate furred male. Black swirl patterned tails that bore a striking resemblance to the older male’s wings swayed with relaxed happiness & contentment across the unmarked back. A low breeze caught the adult’s scarf –the end of which the kit absently caught and began playing with. Feeling his only younger brother shift on his back Hemi Lupin paused mid sentence to grin. It was kind of cool, not being the ‘baby’ of the family anymore. That was Ambrosine’s unique honor now. It was still more than a little to get used to some times, but the loving healer took it all in stride. “Am I boring you, Sothis?”Wild curls shifted with the kit’s head-shake. Hemi chuckled warmly, baby blue eyes twinkling. Playfully he swished his dark chocolate ears to lightly swat his brother’s head. “Can’t hear your head rattle, Soth.” He teased. Both knew Hemi could extrapolate from body language. The wizard-healer might not be an empath like his litter-sister Nahanni, or even as much as the other healer of them, Akara, but Hemi could watch and conclude with surprising accuracy sometimes the right things. Being able to also follow what their mute oldest brother, Romulus, was conveying also was more than a hint that Hemi could easily notice something as clear as a head shake upon his neck. But Sothis chose not to speak most of the time, and his big brother liked to tease him about it. Like a private little game. Which was almost funny because on the right subjects it was difficult to shut him up. “No.” Sothis replied with a slight smile. The two continued in companionable silence for a while before he spoke again. “Why not fly?”Hemi shifted his wings slightly, being mindful of his passenger and not jarring the kit. “Safer. Besides, need to work out the rest of my body muscles too. Flying and apparating are fun & quick, but we should make sure we don’t neglect our bodies.” He could feel the kit’s head nodding in understanding and wondered how Sothis was really taking the information. Was he oddly thoughtful, as Hemi imagined he was? No way to tell, without seeing how Sothis incorporated the information or even IF he did. Deciding it was not worth dwelling on Hemi chose to tease his baby brother instead. “Sides… didn’t want you to fall off.”The kit did not need to see the wink for it was clear in Hemi’s tone. Sothis made a small playfully disgruntled ‘huff’ to indicate HE would never fall off, then laughed softly.

With a nice day, Nagga had finally persuaded Jayn to rest outside and to also to help her get over her fears. In the weeks prior when she and Jiraiya had come to live in Mewtain Valley, at first Jayn had been scared of both of them and it had been a very stressful time in the valley.
But Nagga had gained Jayn’s trust to become friends and they had talked about many things. Just a few days ago some wild Nightmares had come into the valley seeking something as Jayn was outside enjoying herself, when there scents had been smelled. Within seconds Jayn was having fits of hysteria about the Nightmare coming back to finish what it had started all those years ago.
To protect her new friend Nagga had gone out to hunt them down to make sure they didn’t come any farther or to hurt. Since then Jayn had been hiding under her bed not taking care of herself and it was worrying Nagga and her family. Nagga worried that she cannot help Jayn with her emotional problem as she had one of her own deep within her heart, a distrust of males. So she was protecting her physically by staying near. Jayn snoozed restlessly under a tree in a small garden near the house. Legs twitching as she was trying to run from the nightmares plaguing her dreams. Fur messy and matted in a few places, as Jayn hadn’t been take care of herself fully since her two new housemates came and even less when the Nightmares had come by. Now she looked no where near to when Hemi had seen her last. Nagga sat in the tree watching over her as she slept, hoping that she would stay that way for sometime to rest her body.
Just as Jayn’s nightmares were just going to swallowed her whole she woke up with a loud piercing scream of terror that echoed within the valley and that traveled outside as well. Taking a breath from the scream Jayn booked it back into the house to her hiding place. “Can’t…be swallowed,” she muttered as she ran.

Two heads lifted as if as one as a terrified scream broke the day's calm and shattered it as surely as a priceless teacup succumbing to gravity beneath an anvil. Sothis rolled, eyes wide open for a change as he actually gripped onto his brother's back. A back which was now unnaturally tense as the muscles beneath it shifted in preparation to move. "Fly now?" The kit asked, though it was more like a statement than anything else.
Swallowing hard Hemi nodded. "Yeah. Fly now, little brother. Hold on tight." The scream had come in the direction they were heading, and as far as the wizard-healer could tell originated at or at least near their goal. Taking a running leap Hemi spread his wings and took to the sky to cross the last distance between them and Jayn's home, scarf whipping by his brother's intensely earnest face.
Hemi could not be sure the scream was Jayn's. It was possible... but why? What could have happened? With these thoughts in mind the winged male touched down in the valley his friend had described and looked around worriedly. No signs of struggle... "Jayn? Jayn, are you home?"
His worry and concern was evident in his tone and in the flickering of his baby blue eyes. On his back Sothis glanced around the new area in concern & wonder himself, though unafraid.

Eyes watching from her tree perch as the brothers flew in and landed. "Jayn is, but not out here." With Nagga jumping from the tree in front of them and watching them with caution. "She ran inside, because of her nightmares..." As her voice trailed off and her head cocked as one of them was slightly familiar. "I take it your Hemi." Not really a question but a fact for she had heard much about this male from Jayn in the long talks they had and that he had worry written all over his face and she felt a little peace of mind.
"Come on I will take you to her. But I warn you she isn't in the best of mental health and doesn’t look all that great. As the Nightmare that hurt she paid a visit to the valley a few days ago and meeting me and another has stressed her out way beyond what I can even do for her and she hasn't coherently said anything since as well." Trotting off to show them the way and went up into the house. With in minutes they were all outside Jayn's room door. "I have some friends that want to see you," she said to Jayn and tested the doorknob to find it lock. "Fine, we are coming," She huffed as she butted the door open with her horns. "Come on in, I think this will be good for her." As she motioned for Hemi and Sothis to come in.
Inside the room was just messy with a lot of things cluttering the floor with fur everywhere and just not normal amounts. Nagga opened the blinds to the windows where they could see better and seeing Jayn laying down with her back in the corner with blankets all around her and unfocused eyes starring into nothingness. "I don't ....swallow..." she mumbled and as she was shaking in fear. With Jayn's fur thinned and some of it just completely missing in some places, Hemi could see all the old scars she had gotten in her attacks. With an intake of breath and smelling a friend near by, her unfocused eyes moved to his location. "Nightmares...here to....eat me..."Jayn somewhat coherently stated and then started her mumbling to herself. Nagga hung back to watch as she felt useless right now in helping her friend.

Eyes accustomed to reading body language noted the unknown angel's caution even as he lowered his stance the tiniest bit defensively as she came down in front of them. Hemi had seen a lot of things -and heard of more in his multi-species home- but never had he seen nor heard of an angelic kitsusagi who looked quite like the one before him.
That was not important now. He could think on that -not to mention the meaning behind her look and behavior around him- later. Hemi nodded though it appeared he did not need to answer the question that really was not. clinging to his back Sothis lifted one brow slightly before relaxing once more with only a mild expression of both concern & curiosity. Seemed like they were going to find out either way. Worried about what was wrong with Jayn & how the Nightmare could have hurt her Hemi had already turned to follow the strange Angelic into the house. He could not seem to find words.
Dark chocolate ears flicked forward, hearing Jayn's voice even before seeing her. Swallow? Swallow what? As the blinds revealed his friend's form and his baby blues adjusted to the sudden brightness from darkness the sight drew a pained whimper from the healer. A soft golden glow started to form about Hemi as he stepped towards her, little tendrils reaching out to touch the matted female. Then confusion hit, the tendrils and the glow pulling back in an instant. She was already healed. Baby blue eyes flicked to the angelic questioningly. Had she done the healing? The healer-wizard could feel that something had. Eyes flicked back to Jayn filled with confusion and worry as he took another step forward. "Jayn... there are no Nightmares here."
With a soft huff and a roll of his eyes, the kit slid with a casual grace from his older brother's back and padded just as casually to the female. No no no. This would never do. Giving Jayn a bland look that indicated he could not believe she had let herself go like this Sothis breathed once onto her nose then set into grooming her. Females should look nice. Even if he had to put out effort and help.
Surprised at his little brother's rather outgoing actions Hemi paused a moment more before coming to Jayn's side himself with a soft Hemi-purr and a light nuzzle. "Don't worry, Jayn... we'll protect you. We won't let anything eat you."

Nagga could see that Hemi was being a little defencive and knew it was because of her. She didn't care what the two thought, if they could help her friend. Also knowing she would have to explane things later and thought on how much was she going to tell them about her past.
As they both saw Jayn and when Hemi touched her, she gave a slight jump and her head moved to look at Hemi. Eyes trying to focus had slight fear, but then focused enought to reconize Hemi. "There arn't, but I can still hear and smell them everytime I close my eyes, Hemi" she said as it was the first cohearent thing she had said in days.
Wings shifted as Hemi's eyes looked at her. "Those are old scars she had gotten as a kit. Healed by our Human, Naggeela." she said eyes looking towards the floor. "Right now the Nightmare are in her head. But a few days ago some wild Nightmares came into the valley and with the stress of having two new Kitsu housemates, me and another." Moving her wings once more to a little more confortable postion. "From what Jayn told me one of those Nightmares was one that almost killed her as I found out when I chased them off." Nagga headed for the door. "I can't heal. The only thing that I can do is protect physically. I have tryed to help Jayn, but every time she tries to sleep she had nightmares and that is why she is like that." Nagga said as she scratched her head. "Anyways I'm Nagga and I'm going to head for the kitchen for a little bit and be back later." With that said she headed out the door as it was weard feeling that she could fully trust the both of them to help Jayn.
When Sothis breathed into her nose, she was a little started and was a little scared, but as she watched and focused to see who it was and relaxed when it was a kit trying to help her. Not knowing to Sothis that his grooming was calming her mind and nerves, bring her back from the void her mind was currently living.
Hearing Hemi's purr and feeling his nuzzle she leaned against him. "Thank you and thats good" she replied as she closed her eyes.

Truthfully, the healer-wizard's defensiveness was more in automatic protection of his little brother than the strangeness of the angelic alone. Quite likely if Sothis were not with him, Hemi would hardly have bat an eye.
Dark brown ears flicked taking in the words. Hemi was no empath like his sisters, but practiced in reading others he had no problem seeing behind Jayn's body language. The fear in her eyes clear to him as his own brightly colored scarf.
Baby blue eyes flicked to the angelic with a worried glance as he listened to her input as well. A brow arched learning of a human healer even as his thoughts drifted to wonder if his human's true powers would be able to heal the emotional scaring it was seeming more clear that his friend suffered. He snuggled more around her, letting a soft smile thank his brother for the help the kit was giving. But Hemi was troubled. It was so much more difficult to heal a psych than heal a body. Sometimes ever so much so.
Nagga, Nageela. Sothis looked up from his cleaning to flash a charming smile effortlessly on instinct. His older brother's slight inclination of the head and smile over the worry he held was more something that showed he was glad the angel trusted them enough to leave them alone with Jayn. Of course they were trustworthy, but Nagga only just met them and there would have been nothing wrong with her not trusting them just based on that. The majority of his thoughts were centered and focused upon how to help his hurting friend. Reading her body language, Hemi determined how close and snuggle-y she needed him and then gently laid his head down beside hers. Sometimes his concerned baby blue gaze would flick to Sothis who continued to groom Jayn like he would his sisters to check on his little brother but mostly they watched Jayn -watching on every level for signs or clues to how they could make her well.
"Would you like to talk about it?" Soft, gently Hemi half breathed the question.

Jayn had always been shy, as it was in her nature to be so. But to fully trust another Kitsu was something that Jayn had never done even with her adopted family. She did trust them and love them but didn't want them to know the full truth of her past. She had kept the most painful parts to herself, but that might have led to her minds downward spiral to constantly living her fear, awake and asleep.
The snuggles and the grooming helped her mind know what was reality and what was not really there. She knew that she could trust Hemi ever since they first met and even with Sothis which she hardly knew, but there was something different now something that Jayn felt only with her human, to trust them fully. They had to know her past all of it and maybe it would heal her mind, but there was a small part of herself telling her that she shouldn't, because the two weren't blood related to her.
Eyes a little more focused but still not all there but following the light to reality out of the swamps of her nightmares. Hearing and feeling those words spoken to her it was like a release in her soul for her to finally share what she was hiding deep with in herself. "The nature of the Nightmare attacking wasn’t random at all.” She said with her voice somewhat a ghostly version of it and looked at Hemi as to say he was going to get the whole story. “I hatched alone in a cold and dark place, but when I did venture out of the cave I was so skittish but it was the plants that gave me comfort as I could talk with them very freely. Sometime later I encountered other kitsus that later we all became friends, but I hid the fact that I could talk with the plants. Eventually they did find out what I could do. One night a Nightmare had heard rumors that they was a Kitsu that could talk with the plants and chanced on our group, I was asleep when it all happened. They boosted that they knew who had could do that. So the Nightmare had promised them power if they would tell him who it was and so they did as they wanted to have powers over things so much. They betrayed me for power the Nightmare had say they would get.”
She paused for a second to collect her thought as her mind was starting to wander into the void and started once more when it was just at the edge. “I was tortured physically and mentally by the Nightmare to use my skills to set traps and other things for this Nightmare’s enemies and those that betrayed me also tormented me at the fact that I had no control over my fate now. As my power started to weaken and the Nightmare had beaten me that almost killed me as he was finally growing board of those that betrayed me and killed them as they were annoying to him and he was never going to give them power, he just wanted me. But when he was gone I escaped and was found by my human and she healed me and for a time made me forget my past. When I did finally remember I didn’t want another to experience what I had. Every time I saw an egg or was brought home I raised them like my own. Were they didn’t have to suffer alone and to have other that cared for them.”

((I totally forgot this never was replied to! *flails* Then when I did find where I had saved what I started in Word only Sothis' part was done. *pouts* Hemi was being difficult to channel.))
The kit’s dark ears gave a soft flick as he listened to his brother’s friend tell her tale. His grooming slowed, becoming more comforting automatically. Sothis did not care to see girls upset. Unless somehow he had done it intentionally –which in itself was rare. Unless they were upset because he was teasing or picking on someone else for his own -or in his eyes, their- amusement. That was totally different. Sometimes… Sothis was a bit too like his namesake. Her story he took to heart, tucking it away like an evil faerie tale; for most faerie tales when one looked at them were quite dark and evil themselves. So she’s still in the dark part of hers …. needs a prince charming or happily ever after? Sothis smiled slightly into the female’s fur where no one could see it as he worked on a particular tangle. It was not that he did not believe in happy endings -surely his parents seemed to have found one of sorts though Father’s condition remained- simply that they did not to him partner well with the faerie tales. One did not go through things like those and simply ‘live happily ever after’ without some sort of scaring.
He was a deeper kit than he let on.
Sweet hearted Hemi listened in sympathetic silence, his chocolate ears falling more and more as his friend’s voice went on. Baby blue eyes soft he very gently nuzzled Jayn’s jaw. "Black hearts are not for Nightmares alone. Nor are evil deeds. Really… after that it is impressive you ever trusted again, since it was your friends that gave you away.” Honor for being told, for being trusted, filled the healer-wizard’s sweet and comforting voice. He was proud of her too, also strong in his tone. It would have been so easy for her to not trust after that. So easy. Yet she trusted him.
Gently he moved his far paw to brush a long fur from her face. "My housemate Maree says plants are smarter than flesh-people.” His reassuring smile earned a silly quirk to it. "Maybe you would feel better asking their opinions of those you meet?” It was both suggestion and sweetly gentle tease, those baby-blue and clear eyes of his smiling warmly upon her. As much as he could read body language… speaking was not necessarily one of Hemi’s strong points –but then words could be such a confusing medium for how they would be taken.
He wanted to tell her -sometime- that all Nightmares were not bad. Surely, the race was more preordained that way but Hemi himself only knew nice ones. Even if he knew they were the minority. The most evil he knew… was Normal. Sighing softly Hemi nuzzled a little more, his eyes softer even than they had been before. "Jayn… I know the torture must have been terrible but I wonder…” He studied her face softly. He was not a psychologist, but a healer with empathy even if not an empath himself. "Has the Nightmare come to represent fearing betrayal?”

((Its ok, things happen and it has been hard for me to channel my own kitsu as of late. But I must say that this rp does make me cry when I reread it. ^-^))
She was in the dark parts of her tale, as she viewed it Jayn had always been in the darkness with no end in side. Always fearing what would happen next. But now there now a small glimmer of hope to guide her out of the darkness. Fixed on that small light to were she hope might be safety from what she had happen to her. With each grooming lick brought her mind out of the nightmares for at least awhile. Knowing that they would come back...
After tell her tale Jayn became more relaxed knowing that she was safe with the two of them and it had been a long time since she felt that way with other Kitsus. Feeling Hemi nuzzle her she gave him a small smile that faded quickly. "No I supose they arn't...It took a long time for me to do, but I learned to care once more from my human." she answered.
Feeling Hemi move some hair and slightly purred tho it was very supdued. "It has been a long time since I have talked to them. I have only heard there wispers since my old beatings." Since she had been healed Jayn had been afrade to talk to the plants fully. Fearful if others knew what she could do fully and thinking that others might take advantage of that and she didn't want to endure what she had gotten from the Nightmare ever again. "I hid most of it deep within myself, were I wouldn't get hurt..." She had never thought to ask the plants what they thought of others, but it was something to think about.
In her heart she was very greatful to Hemi and his brother for what they were doing, but she had no idea on how to repay them or if she could ever do that, but it was something she would have to figure out later. Shivering and the meantion of torture. But she looked into his eyes that were calm and soft like a soothing lake. Eyes unfocued once more as she thought on what he had said. She was ever so afrade of betrayal and did everything she could for it not to happen, but it had plaged her so much that the Nightmare had became the symbol of that fear from what he had beaten for her to do for him. Realizeing that what Hemi was true she started to cry. "It has..." she said softly still crying that she had condemed the many becasue of the one.

((again, many apologies. For some reason... this rp is particularly hard to sync with my kitsu in. *puzzled* not sure why. thanks for your patience))
The brothers' eyes met over the female's body. Hemi snuggled in a little closer to give her warmth -more of friendship than physical. Poor Jayn... to be so long alone and untrusting when she was by nature such a trusting kitsusagi. To have to go so much against her personality... and to lose or hide her talent after such a tremendously horrible experience.
Having returned to grooming the kit lifted his gaze with an arched brow at his healer-brother. They had some experience with contained abilities. Their human... her 'gifts' were self-contained also. Not from trauma but from being at odds with the belief in which she was raised. Enough alcohol pushed her past it .... and sometimes very special situations... but there was a similarity between that and this none-the-less. On some level... both females were afraid of their gifts.
But what to do to help?
Hemi gave the slightest of nods to his baby brother and licked Jayn's head, holding her gently and letting her cry herself out if need be. When he felt a good, healing length of time had passed he gently nuzzled Jayn while being very careful. He did not bring back up Nightmares, or them becoming the symbol for her pain -it was unnecessary. She knew it now, her eyes opened. It might take time for anything to come of that realization, but there was no reason to bring it up again now or keep on it at all. That was not where the healing needed to be. "Jayn... I know you're afraid. But... I think you must miss that part of you too. Like being incomplete. We have a housemate... a small little cait. She loves anything green and growing, communicates and heals them in her own special way. I think... sometime maybe it would help you to meet her. She does not know what she does with plants other than care for them. If you just talked plants with her..." The healer-wizard's soft voice trailed off with a gentle & concerned sigh. Inner hurts of the spirit were so much more delicate & his 'gift' could neither see nor mend them. He nuzzled her again, taking note in the corner of his mind that Sothis was nearly 3/4 finished grooming her now and she was at least physically looking better cared.
