I have yet to play FF XII and I was hoping for some honest opinions before I buy it. What should I expect? Is it any good? And my other question is how similar if at all is it to the previous ones? I have seen information on it in mags and all and on G4, but someone who has actually played it I think would be better of a source. So should I?

xd Seriously though, I think it's a great game. The battle system is fun, but if you've read reviews and the like I won't really talk about it since you've probably a good idea about it. It's a very long game, though I'm a bit of a slow player. sweatdrop
It's different from the ones I've played. There's less of a romantic plot, and there really is no main character in the sense that there's no one character the others rally around and are lead by. The world is also different: it's a bit like a Star Wars type sci-fi, with flying ships and non human races. The world itself is a small stretch of land instead of the entire globe (like in VII), and it doesn't seem as 'ultimate end of the world' as the other games.

Well, my ultimate advice is to play every Final Fantasy you can, but that's not really helpful, I guess. I personally didn't like it as much as the other recent games, because it does feel a lot less personal, and I've expressed my dislike of the battle system. Some people like XII's battle best though, so that's just me. I agree that it's really long, so it's worth the money in that respect, and there are plenty of sidequests.

YES IS REALLY GOOD.... I FINISH THE GAME AND I LOVED IT smile I THINK IS ONE OF THE BEST FINAL FANTASY wink I HOPE YOU LIKE IT TOO BYE smile

I also would advise to try all the FF games you can. Each is different, it's own little spin.
FF7 is my all-time fave. it grabs you on the emotional level even the music. There's a scene where i screamed, i cried, i reset the game thinking i did something wrong, horribly wrong. Only to have to live thru that moment one more time! (don't spoil it for yourself, you just have to play it and all the little sidequests) This is the game where the outcome and certain scenes are different depending on choices you make.

The game is ok when you get into it, but the beginning is so slow getting started and I don't have that kind of time anymore. And omg Rex is retarded.
