Great miiiiiight be an overstatement but I thought you should know that...
I found lace topped stockings at forever 21. They are a little shorter than knee height and I found them in blue, pink, white, and black. The lace on them is kind of shiny, probably a poly-blend, but its not that noticeable, they are soft, they don’t look costume-y and they are only $3.50. I bought a pair of both the black and the white ones. I’m not sure if this is just the stores in my area (So Cal) or in all of them, but if you want some cheap stockings that look ok for situations that would wear your good ones thin, or just don’t want to pay ten dollars+ to buy better ones then I would definitely check this out.
Also the Icing (claires) in my mall is selling a ton of fake pearl items. I absolutely adore anything pearl so you might want to check that out as well.
Havent posted in awhile but I thought you ladies might find this interesting~

Nah, their lace is more than likely to be mostly polyester . xD
I know they came out with some nice socks, both regular color and striped, earlier during the summer, and the colors weren't crazy and they were perfect for like classic lolita and stuff. Too bad they aren't selling those anymore~

To add to the sock find, at both claires and charlotte russe they have musical note and piano key knee high socks as of thursday this week. I don't know if all the stores are carrying them, but they would look great with some of the musical note outfits out there!

Ah I love that store!
I've seen and bought several items that remind me of Lolita. In fact, it's because of those clothes that someone told me about the Lolita fashion...a girl came up to me and said she loved my sense of style because it reminded her of the Lolita fashions in Japan.
And that's how I discovered this form of clothing. xD
We are the chick; the world is our shell.
