No, I don't think I have. I don't have Windows, anyway.
It is a great program. It is a shareware but you never have to buy it. Textpad 4.0 is the way to go.

Vi, Pico, and Emacs are command line text editors. They're not meant to be used to write documents.
But Openoffice.org seems good enough for me. In fact, I like it better than Microsoft Word.

No you can text edit in Emacs.... just not as easily as with a real text editor... but I have heard of open office before... personally I use Corel Wordperfect for my offical document needs.... but that is me..
