Lif Forest: Lif is filled with the oldest of beings. There are ruins of what was once a great shrine city, which is now overrun by flora and crumbling. There are multiple shrines which still exist in the forest, and kept safe by those who live there. The lifs, as people have come to call those who inhabit it, are generally of a different nature than other Ghostlings. They are more attune to mana, and possess an unearthly air about them.

In the center of the forest is a great labyrinth of trees, which leads to the greatest tree of them all, called Lifthrasir Tree.. Springs pour from inside the tree and come out as streams and trickles which lead to the river. There is a great temple inside the Lifthrasir tree, which is sacred to the lifs.

It was late noon and Rosenrot was restring under one big tree after a whole day of wondering. She was enchanted by the beauty and mystic aura this place shined with. Munching on her favorite chocolate cookies she played with her glowing pendant cos she loved the color of the fire shining inside of it for it was the same color as the eyes of one person very dear to her she knew so long ago.

Träume rarely walked. Usually she'd glide just a little off the ground, partly to keep her feet clean, partly because she enjoyed the feeling of floating. Today, though, she was dancing in Lif Forest, feet tapping gently on the cool, moist earthiness that was the forest floor. Sunlight filtered through the leaves of the trees, so large and tall that their crowns were in the sky, and the shadows they cast danced with her as she sang.

It was an old lullaby, one from the days before everything happened- so ancient, now she thinks about it. Before the Great War, before she died, before the war in her own country, before her mother's death.

With a sigh she strolls through the forest, delighting in how ancient it is and in the tragic magnificence of its beauty. The forest had not always been known as Lif Forest, she remembers. So much has changed since the Great War, she thinks-

and then all of a sudden she comes face-to-face with dark brown and green, the realization that she's tripped over a vine of some sort only occurring to her seconds later. Looking up, she sees one of the cat-ghostlings that have recently appeared in the Land of the Dead. Träume hastily picks herself up and dusts herself off, then smiles down at the other Ghostling; That's a pretty pendant you have.

Rosenrot was brought back from her day dreaming by the sound of something falling to the ground. She looked around and spotted interesting looking Ghostling and even more interesting spots flying around it.

'' Thank you. ''

She continued to play with her pendant.

'' I made it my self. ''

And kept her eyes fixed on flying things.

'' What are those. ''

A polite one, Träume notes, smiling. They weren't rare, but it was always lovely to see one.
You're welcome! she says, And wow, you're quite the craftsman- I could never have made something like that. I.. this- is from when I was still alive. Shyly she indicates her own necklace, a cross-shaped one that glows blood-red. Her eyes follow the cat-ghost's movements, watching the girl play with her pendant, until she's surprised by another question.

I'm not entirely sure, Träume frowns, though I know they're spirits. It's just I have no idea why they're around me, they always have been. Since I came to this world. This one, she points, this is a shadow-spirit, and this one is air- then fire, and water, and earth.

Shrugging a little, she laughs again. I'm Träume, by the way, and you are?

Rosenrot smiled back. She was enchanted with little spirits.

'' I'm not quite sure how I made it. I dreamed about it and when I woke up it was there. ''

She looked at cross-shaped necklace.

'' I like the color of it and the shape is really beautiful. ''

She looked back to little flying spirits.

'' It must be nice to have them. You're never alone. ''

She stopped playing with her pendant, put her tail back to it's place and looked in Träume's eyes.

'' Hello Träume. My name is Rosenrot for I can't remember my old one but I know I loved dark red roses. ''

She searched her pocket, pulled out two chocolate cookies and handed one to Träume while munching the other one.

'' Want one? ''

Well, then, the ancient Ghostling laughs, you must have some sort of affinity with dreams, like the Astrals do. It must have been a beautiful dream, though, to have been able to create this.

She touches her own necklace lightly; Thank you, and yes- I suppose you could call them my guardian spirits. They're not quite like oversouls, because they came with me from my own world, a long time before the Great War. There's a moment of silence as Träume seems to remember something, then-

It's nice to meet you, and Rosenrot's a pretty name, what does it mean? With a small flick of her hand, Träume produces a dark red rose from thin air, and offers it to the cat-girl, taking the proffered cookie with her other hand and biting into it.

This tastes great! Did you make it yourself?

She was little confused.

'' Astrals? I dreamed of my dads old workshop. I used to help him allot cos I always loved to make shiny little pieces of jewelery. ''

She looked back at little spirits.

'' Great war? I'm sorry I don't know a lot about this world. I'd like to have companion like you do could you tell me where I can find oversoul? ''

Rosenrot toke the rose but as soon as she touched it dark red color turned in black.

'' Someone once told me that was a name for dark red rose in some foreign language. I always thought it to be so elegant name for them. ''

She put the rose in her hair and looked at Träume offering her another cookie.

'' Thank you for the rose. My human friend helped me with the cookies. I just love these chocolate ones. Tell me what does you're name mean? ''
PostPosted: Sun Aug 31, 2008 10:53 pm

Your father? Träume smiles; So you remember your past, just like I do.. Will you tell me more?

Oversouls are.. well, summons. They're pretty rare, though. Nowadays, the world is populated by willowisps- charm dragons, poltergeists, sireni, and the like, but it was not always so. A long, long time ago, there were espers- like me, and another race, the esprits. You won't see many of us around now, because most of us were killed in the Great War. Anyway, there were different types of espers and esprits, like there are different types of willowisps. I am an Astral- a mystical type of spirit that has talent for illusions and psychic abilities, as well as an affinity for dreams. That rose, too, was merely an illusion.

Träume means "dream", but it was not always my name. I came from a different world- Alendris, it was called, and there my name was Irildë Astari. Rosenrot is a beautiful name, dear, and it fits you well. Taking the cookie, she thanks Rosenrot and sits down beside her. These taste really good!

'' I remember fragments of my past and feelings that I felt in that moments. But I can not recall my real name. I like you're old name. ''

Rosenrot thought a little picking up pieces of memories she still had.

'' I can remember my rose garden, smell of the ocean, a little about my family, my grandmas cookie recipe... ''

She giggled and finished her cookie. Because she had only one left she broke it in half and gave one half to Träume.

'' ... I also remember a boy that was dear to me. I'm looking for him and I can feel his looking for me to. ''

Trying to understand all new information about this world made her little confused. She thought it was sad that there were not much espers and esprits left but she couldn't understand how someone could die if he is already dead or was everything she believed to know about this world wrong.

'' How can you die if you're already dead? ''

So it will always be, Rosenrot, our memories fade with time. Perhaps someday, though, they may come back. I like writing anything down, if just so it will always stay with me..

As she listens to the other ghostling talk, for a while it feels as if she's alive again, with Mummy and Jeremy in the castle gardens, dancing and laughing and-

then Rosenrot's voice brings her back to the present. So you must have lived near the sea, she smiles.

I remember.. the city, outside the castle, the first time I'd ever been out of the castle, and a boy, as well, although I don't know who he is... I hope you find yours.

Munching the cookie, she thanks Rosenrot again, and pauses to think awhile.

The espers and the esprits didn't like each other, you see. The espers are ghostlings- well, ghosts, in essence, but the espers are purer, having never lived before. They have no connection with Earth, and they never had to suffer- many espers did, in their lives. So eventually, that resentment led to the Great War, many many years ago. I don't know how exactly, the dead die... I wasn't involved in it.

Turning away, she whispers- I hate wars.

'' Yes I think I did. In a small village. Although I can't be sure. ''

Rosenrot looked at Träume amazed.

'' You lived in a castle? What was it like? ''

She didn't know much about wars and seeing how uncomfortable speaking about it made Träume feel she decidet not to mentione it any more and smiled innocently to her.

I would rather have lived in a village, I think. It must have been nice.. tell me more about it!

Our castle was pretty big- in the capital of Vleimar, which is one of the biggest countries in Alendris- Alendris being the world I came from. But it was a pretty lonely life; there was only me, and Mummy, and Jeremy- and Daniel and Evelyn; I guess that was about it. It was a really beautiful castle, but you know what they say- even the most beautiful cage is still a cage.

Smiling wistfully, she turns back to Rosenrot.

So, tell me more about your boy!

'' What I can remember about him are games we played on beach with all our friends. We would run, fish, swim, gather shells... once I found really big one it was so beautiful... he had sand colored hair and deep green eyes. ''

She moved her tail to show her glowing pendant, put it in her hands and looked at it.

'' They were same color as the glow of my pendant. ''

Still holding the pendant she looked at Träume.

'' It seems I had lot friends. And our village was close to sea. It wasn't big I think it had about thirty houses. My house wasn't big but it had big garden. I had rose garden there. Beautiful dark red roses. Did you have rose gardens? ''
PostPosted: Tue Sep 30, 2008 3:01 am

Sand-coloured hair and green eyes.. he could not have been mistaken for anything else but an earth-elf, in my world. But I sense that they are very different..

So, your pendant reminds you of him? Then it must have been a very strong love, to be able to create something like this. It is truly.. beautiful, and all the more for the emotions it holds in it.

That must have been lovely, she muses. To be surrounded by the ones you love, and to be near to the sea... Things I could only have dreamed of.

But yes, we had rose-gardens, white, red, blue, purple- roses of any and every variety. One of the old Queens had, they said, devoted her whole life tending those gardens- not just the roses, but everything else- for she loved flowers of any sort. And apparently my mother spent her days in the castle grounds as well, when she could, before she had me.

All so long ago.

'' Earth-elf? I never heard of such thing. ''

She looked to the distance and smiled.

'' He was my best friend and the one I was betrothed to. ''

She looked at Träume with interest shining from her eyes when she the story of the rose garden.

'' Wow so much colors and so old garden with such interesting story. It mast have been very big. Oh, I wish I could have seen it. ''

She lied down and looked to the sky. It was beautiful sunny day with small clouds that were floating lazily and she remembered how she used to look at them for hours trying to figure out what they reminded her of.

'' Would you like to play a game with me? ''
