It'll probably be seen as it is now. Satanic, evil, noise? Yeah, pretty much, I don't think the public view of metal will ever change. That was said about rock music too at one point. True, but Rock isn't as harsh.

Yeah, pretty much, I don't think the public view of metal will ever change. That was said about rock music too at one point. True, but Rock isn't as harsh. It was for its time, perhaps something more harsh then metal will come out and replace metal. Actually stuff already is appearing like Robot Death Music, Power Electronics(non-ambient stuff).
