I've been playing Mabinogi because of a friend. It's nice, but it really annoys me that you're so limited if you don't pay, and I have vowed to never pay real money on an MMO. Seriously, I spend enough on Gaia. So, I've been looking for a new one to play. "Best" is subjective, but does anybody have any suggestions?
*should actually be finishing offline games she hasn't beaten, not to mention finishing summer reading*

I'd say try out a free Ragnarok online server

That's the one I typically play on. If you start, let me know. I really don't play any free MMOs, though, they're generally not very good. Besides, I pay for WoW, so I try to get my money's worth.

I honestly have very little time for MMOs at all, so whatever I end up with, it'll only be very casual. If I did end up paying for one, it would almost certainly be XI. 3nodding

Well if you feel like buying a new game I would say Guild Wars, it's not pay per month, just buy the game and play. The only thing is... I don't play it anymore, I got to tired of doing missions over and over. it gets stupidly repeditive.... Like WOW

I've played Flyff and hated it because it takes forever to level. their no easy way to level in that game, not even something like quests. Worst of all is that the joy in playing is gone the moment you realize that you can't level casually, you have to go and fight monsters for hours, and there's nothing to do like a delivery and fight your way there, no it's sit and camp the spawn.

What I've actually been doing lately is downloading free WoW trials, and then getting new ones when they run out. sweatdrop I really, really like it! It's just annoying having to start over every ten days.

I would suggest Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine
if you're a fan of the Shin Megami Tensei games, then this one is definitely for you. It's pretty decent in terms of character customization, there are different classes. There's the magic casters, with different types of magic to choose from that a are all found in the games. They have a melee class as well, but my favorite has to be the gunner! Shotguns, hanguns, plasma guns oh my!
and the best part of the entire game is that just like the shin megami tensei series, you can convince just about any demon enemy in the game to join you and contract them to fight for you. So they will follow you around, grow in skill and level, they'll learn their own skills and sometimes give you items. And you can go to the cathedral and fuse them with other demons to make more powerful and rare demons.
They did a very good job.
Not to mention the story is actually pretty good, and has cutscenes. albiet, in-game cutscenes.

I heard this game called Fiesta online was preety good so I would check that out
But out of all those games I would have to say Ragnarok is proly my favorite

ya once you play WoW everything else seems ugly to you lol. I have been playing WoW since it first came out. I heard NeoSteam was a pretty good game. But i dont play any of the free MMO games. Like i said once you play WoW you kinda dont want to play the free ones. I do play S4 League tho. It is not a MMO its a shooter game. I myself am no real fan of shooters but this game is really good. After doing some looking around really the best that i have heard everyone say is Guild Wars. But You still have to buy the disc and what not. I look at it MapleStory is the best free around. Guild Wars is the best where you dont have to pay monthly to play it. Also Guild Wars 2 is in the works and it looks to be the biggest thing the company has ever done.
