MegaTherion777 Maiden_Freak1990 MegaTherion777 Maiden_Freak1990 MegaTherion777 Maiden_Freak1990 dude i love jpurmey neil shawn is probably one of the best guitar players i have ever had and therion im a metalhead and thats how i react to gorgoroth i hate gorgoroth yes, but ALL non-metalheads have bad reactions to gorgoroth, whereas SOME metalheads like gorgoroth, so i felt it was easier to generalize about non-metalheads. neal schon is a good guitarist, but the lyrics are sappy and the singing style is saccharine. i cant handle that in music. well i can understand the lyrics and thanks for claryfing with you generalization me im into old school heavy metal and power metal i try to find an artist i like in each genre, with prog metal being the only exception. i just get bored with prog i luv these genres mostly heavy, power, prog, folk, viking, christian, melo death, symphonic, and some some gothic i hate black metal thought its too demonic and not melodic enough for me my favorite genres are black, thrash, doom, and death, in that order, but, as i said, i have at least one band i like in most genres i can respect that and i do but for me its hard for to like thos genre's you named because im into the melodic aspect of music not just the heavy destructive form of metal

MegaTherion777 Digital Malevolence MegaTherion777 Digital Malevolence MegaTherion777 i didnt like journey's old singer. obviously i'm not going to like a new singer who sounds exactly like him. whatever happened to artistic integrity and developing your own sound, anyways? I don't know..... I don't like cover bands, I have more respect to people who start their own bands with their own music verses covering their favorite bands. A few covers is one thing but if that all you do... i agree. or at least cover several different artists and give yourself some VARIETY. but yes, writing your own stuff with an occasional cover is much better. I also think its great when a band will cover a song but instead of copying it exactly they change it up a bunch. yes! i like to take acoustic folk and blues and reggae songs and turn them heavy That sounds interesting.... And Behold...The Arctopus is not a boring prog metal band. talk2hand

Gravechylde Don't think I've heard anything from them. Dude, they've sold like 300,000,000 albums (not exaggerating). How could you possibly have never heard them?

Like I said in another post, I know the name, and I probably have heard a random song or so, but I didn't know it was them at the time.
