I whipped this up under the idea that many people prefer different paranormal creatures and situations. So what's your poison?
Mine has to be ghosts. I'm into the spiritual exorcisms like itakos in Japan or monks and stuff like that.

I said other: Fair Folk - the assorted goblins, fairies and trolls or European folklore. Especially fairies. The Old ones, that people called 'The Fair Folk' or 'The Lords and Ladies' because if you actually said what they were called, they might come for you in the night.
Plus there's nothing better than Really dark fairy tales...
Previously, I might have said Werewolves, but they're something of a one-trick pony imo, unless you count the other stories - Selkies and things like that, but as I see it, they're closer to Fae than Werewolves...
(That said, I'm also a big fan of Changeling: The Dreaming roleplay game)

Ever since I was little I've been quite taken with the sort of mythical beasts that cryptolozoologists are always chasing after- most specifically the Mothman tale. My character, Laura, is a monster specialist... I suppose she reflects my curiosity in such subjects.
Don't get me wrong- I love all the myth critters. Vampires were cool when I was a kid (god that feels like eons ago) but now that b***h Stephanie Meyer wrote those crap-books and ruined the myth for me and everyone else who loved Bram Stoker's Dracula and Vlad-Dracuul.
Poltergeists are another one of my fascinations, considering that I had a run-in with one when I was little. I say run-in not because I think it was a poltergeist, but because stuff in my kitchen moved on its own and I don't have a scientific explanation yet.
