Here you can learn all you need to know to have fun and keep others entertained with your own stories. I Have been RPing for more than 6 years, and am happy to help anyone who is in need. Anything you need to know, from how to set up a realistic character, to how you should actually post what your character is doing. Ask for any anything you want answered and I will answer it to the best of my ability.

“OK! First things first. I think a simple FAQ will help to start off people. Any questions I get will be added here so look before asking.

Q. What is Role playing?

A. Role playing is like acting a part that you make up. You decide what your character says, does, and thinks. THERE ARE NO LIMETS TO YOUR IMAGINATION!!! You can do anything you can think of. You are writing a story, and have the power to move that story where you want to. That said, you are not alone in Role Playing, what makes it fun is to “Play off” of what others write.

Q. What should I write about?

A. Well as this is a Bleach RP, you write about Bleach. You create a character and drop them into the world of Hollows, Shinigami, and the struggle for every human soul on earth. You can write about anything that falls inside this universe, from the mundane…

** Darsis walks from the room, and sets off to meet up with Kisa. As he approaches the meeting spot an unseen branch trips him and he falls flat on his face. **

Or it could be Spectacular.

** The Hollow jumped at Darsis. He moved to evade, but was not quite fast enough. The huge razor sharp claw of the monster slashed open a huge, ragged gash on his flank. Blood poured from the wound, but Darsis did not fall. With a quick muttering his blade changed shape and as it did the lightning crashed down from the sky, right onto the hollow. **

You can write what you want, the sky is the limit.

Q. OK, so is there anything I can’t do?

A. Yes, there are rules. First, NO GOD MODING (G-Moding). G-modeing is writing anything that changes what is established as the truth. For example…

*Person A writes* The cat jumps off the roof and lands on my head.

Then…

*Person B writes* The Cat really didn’t Jump, but was grabbed by a bird and taken away.

What person B wrote directly contradicts what Person A wrote. G-modeing also covers the writing of simply wrong or impossible things, this includes giving your character too much power. For example…

** Darsis sees Kisa, he draws his sword and kills her. They hold a funeral and she is missed. (OR) I open a doorway to earth and destroy Soul Society as I leave.**

You want others to have fun as well as yourself.

Q. How do I make a good Character?

A. Well, that is easy and hard to explain. The easy part is that you should make a character that is unique and original. You can use people from Bleach as a reference but when making your own, use your own ideas for the person. TO make the character better, in my mind, you need “depth” to him/her. You don’t need depth, but it is much more entertaining to interact with someone who has a personality all their own. If you just have a 2D character with no emotions, or reason for any of his/her actions, then why read about them?

The reason I like the story of Bleach, and many other manga/anime is due to the characters “Depth” Ichigo is driven to gain strength to protect his friends, WHY? Because he was not able to protect his mother as a young boy. So ask yourself the question, why is ________ <-(Insert your character’s name here) doing this? Come up with a back story, and the personality that his/her past has given him. Also you must stay close to your character’s personality, if she/he is a forgiving, merciful person, they are not likely going to go on a murderous raid. However, they might if they have a good reason. (They can forgive the attack on them self’s, but if one were to attack their family, vengeance may take hold of even the kindest person.)

Just remember, to use your imagination, and make this fun for everyone who plays.

Q. How should I post what my character is doing?

A. The most important thing is to let others know what you are doing. Here are some things to help.

1. Use “quotations” when your character is talking. (this also goes for others you are talking for)
2. Have a simple way to show who is speaking. (Darsis: “Hay guys!”, or “Run you fools!” yelled Darsis)
3. Do not use L337 Speak, or “AIM” talk. Use full words. (Do not us… w8, g2g, lol, m00n, ext.)
4. A good tip, I use a third party program to write my posts. (I use Microsoft word, then when it’s all spellchecked and such I just copy and paste.)
5. Get to the point of what you are trying to convey. You should describe things in detail but don’t go overboard.
5. Stay in character in the RP spots. Don’t start talking to people about stuff in the rp (Like pc games, or tv shows. **If your character is taking then its fine.)
6. If you need to talk out of character (OOC) use ( and ) to tell people its OOC. ( Like this… Darsis runs for his life. (ya I got to go to bed, will be on later), see?

Might I add that in bleach,or pretty much in anything japanese related , honorifics is important.
-san: san is equivalent to Mr., Ms. Mrs., Miss etc. It's pretty much politeness.
-sama: This shows one level higher of respect than -san.
-dono: dono or tono, refers to utmost respect, meaning "lord"
-kun: used at the end of boys' names. This shows familiarity. It can be used when addressing someone younger or of lower status.
-chan: can be used for girls and young boys. This shows childish cuteness.
-sempai: refers to an upperclassman
-kohai: refers to an underclassman
-Sensei: teacher
-blank: Not using an honorific usually means the person has permission to address a person in an intimate way. However, using this when that intimacy has not been earned is insulting.
