Her brother had protected her but she still got a deflect from one of the casters lightening bolts that hit her brother. When she woke up she saw her brother standing over her though he looked different mainly because he was a ghost. He lead her to the a town in the border land where he was to take his mage classes and found her a family that would take her in. She has never told anyone of it.
