It wasn't that bad of a day as the sun was starting to shine once more, it seemed like it wouldn't shine again there for a time. Shaking her head, the beads of her bridle rattled against each other, as her saddle rattled it's own tune. A snort escaped the armored kynd as her hardened gaze glance up at the dark trees she lived near.
"That day is coming, I can feel it." She muttered a** he stood and shook again.
Her fur ruffling, Andromeda stepped along the path that lead toward the stream near her patrol. She won't rest until she knew that things weren't going to return to the old days. Stopping at the stream, her head dipped to drink, though her ears remained alert, nothing was going to get the best of her.

Jack was swimming underwater along the stream, searching for an adventur, his blade trailing behind him. Some storms off in the ocean had forced the one-eyed Jack to head farther inland than he would like. He looked up to the surface and wondered if he was destined to be bored. He longed for the adventure of the high seas once more and wasn't sure how to accomplish his desire so close to land. Jack was a pirate and used to be commander in his own lachkynd squad but as trouble brewed so many of the lachkynds turned tail and became honest folk. Jack was the only one who continued to venture the waters in search of the adventure of a lifetime. As he looked ahead he could see a head down in the water drinking. Jack decided to see if this fellow had any ideas on how to find some fun. As Jack swam closer to the figure, he recognized the figure to be an everkynd dog. Jack snorted, despising dogs and was about to swim away when the figure froze and became more alert. Jack decided it was best to reveal himself now instead of playing a game of hide and seek or chase. He swam to the surface of the water and poked his head out looking into the eyes of the armoured dog.

The movements in the water hadn't taken Andromedda off guard as she raised her head again, eyes narrowing at the shadow beneath the surface came closer to her. She had not quarrel with whatever it was that was beneath the surface. Though her tail bristled out in anticipation of anything, but a friendly greeting. Sitting still, she watched as the black head of the lachkynd feline popped up from the water to look squarely toward her.
"Ah, a water dweller." She muttered shaking her head, making the beads rustle again as her tail eased and curled behind her. "Is has been some time since one of your kynd has ventured this far into war torn country."
Looking out over the water's surface she wondered if there were others with this one. Seeing none, she looked back down at the one eyes feline. Ah yes, she remembered. Remembered the squad she had lead into the heart of the enemies grounds, most lachkynds. Felines and canines, both having their advantages. But she wouldn't forget how many lost their lives against the demons that still lurked the shadows plotting and planning.

Jack sighed. "All I wanted was an adventure but the sea is no longer a place for me. You say this area is in a war? Interesting, mayhap I have found my adventure here." Jack said as he lept out of the water and shook himself, his saber (not sure what the knife is called) dangling beside him. He looked around before focusing back on the dog. The dog didn't seem to want to cause him any trouble thus Jack decided not to pick a fight with the female everkynd.
"What's your name and position in this war?" Jack asked curiously wondering how he could get involved. Jack was always a risk taker and this seemed like a gift from heaven above. "Name's Jack." he said thinking it fair to give his name if he was asking for hers. "Oh and where is this place. I seemed to be travelling up that stream forever."
Jack stretched out before once again standing straight. He watched the dog carefully looking for sudden movements that might indicate that his first impression of her being fair was wrong but no movements came and he allowed himself to relax a slight degree. Worse case scenerio he jumped back into the water and took off. There was no way a land dweller could beat him in the water.

Andromeda watched the feline as it came out of the water and shook off. It spoke of swimming from the ocean and coming to the inland. And it seemed most interested in the war she had spoken about. Sadly, that war was over, had been over for many years now. All Andromeda had to show for it was a scar that snuck across the corner of her left eye.
"Sorry my friend, but that war has come and gone before your time." She sighed lowering her head a little. "But there will be another. These bones of mine are tuned to the winds and tell me that nothing was settled all those years ago." Her head turned toward the dark trees off to her side. "And My name is Andromeda. Leader of the Lach Squad."
Looking back at jack she sized him up before standing and walking around him. Looking him over before replacing herself back where she had begun. Now there was something, this one reminded her of someone in her squad, but that was too long ago. This kynd was younger and more lively then the other. No, this one wasn't of her old friend's line.
'Though it is a pleasure to meet you Jack? Was it?" her head tilted to one side. "It is nice to see the lach coming back after they fled to the oceans from the war that had ravaged the lands."

Jack sighed. "Oh well to my adventure perhaps the next one. Jack caught Andromeda's curious look. It was as if she recognized him. But that was impossible as they had never met before this. "So you think there will be another war? And are you saying that no lachkynds are here at all?"
A world without lachkynds? Jack would have thought that the lachkynds would have come back to help rebuild this world. "It is sad to think that my kind has left all these parts. Think I will stick around for a while. It's not like I have anything better to do. Maybe I can help you guys out."
Jack didn't no why he felt compelled to help this dog. Usually he hated dogs to no end but for some reason his usual hate was not with him today. Well, Jack, he said to himself, Looks like this pirate is mellowing out a bit. Perhaps I am going soft since leaving the ocean. Oh well, I am who I am. Jack smiled at Andromeda. "Nice to meet you too, Andromeda."

There was the disappointment in his voice that made her frown. Looking back over the still healing part of the gardens, she sighed shaking her head. There weren't any others around, most had either been killed, fled and never returned or died of old age. Leaving Andromeda the last one to watch the borders for intruders. Looking back at Jack from the corner of her eye, he ad looked so willing to throw himself into the fray whether it would have been the death of him or not.
"There will be another if those that survived the last come back to avenge the lose of their comrades. But we too had lost many in that fight, most my squad fell to the claws of the demons." At this she shivered as if hearing the screams of those being killed around her. "So many, so many were killed at such a young age."
Eyes going glassy she looked off into the distance, lost in the memories of the war. Of what had happened, of what may happen again if she didn't stand at a constant visual over the borders. Blinking a couple times, dragging herself from her memories that seemed more frequent then the last time she thought of them, Andromeda looked back at Jack as things turned back to the Lachkynd not coming back.
"They are back, in different parts of the garden, but none have returned here. Too much blood was spilled in this place that it possibly scares them. I wouldn't blame them really, I too would flee from this place if I were a different kynd. But now, I stand here in my loneliness and watching over the lines. Making sure that nothing sneaks up on us again." She stomped a paw at this statement. "But you are welcomed to stay, it feels like many ages have passed since I have had company."

Jack nodded then looked around once more before looking at Andromeda. He wanted to help even if it wasn't the adventure he was looking for. "I will help with what I can." Jack announced before walking over to Andromeda. "But what can I do? I have never been to these parts before though perhaps I can get some of the lachkynds to return here. But no promises on that if how much loss you said there was is even half true."
Jack jumped into the water to cool off and poked his head back out so he could continue talking to Andromeda. He prefered the water to standing on the land an knew he could still hold a conversation even with the new distance. "How many lachkynds are nearby? How many of them were here when the fighting occured or lost someone due to the fighting? Are there any who wasn't directly affect who would be more easily persuaded to return?" Jack asked trying to come up with a plan.
He began swimming along the edge but kept an eye and ear open to Andromeda as he stayed close to the shoreline. He loved exercise and swimming and it kept him from becoming more restless.
