For about... 45 minutes of our 3hr class today, we basically had a history lesson.
Jim, our teacher, got talking about the government and socialism and comunisim...
It was almost the entire class VS him in a debate.
He was saying socialism and comunism are very good, and we shouldn't strictly cut off nations who have that set up as their government. He even wants it in US. Cuba and Russia are such great nations because of it.
And Cosmo is a great guy. Sodam probably wasnt too bad of a guy, we're just fight in Iraq for the oil. And everyone praises Washington too much, like he was a god, when for all we know, he could have been a really mean person.
and it was the socialists and comunists who gave us the child labor laws in the 1930s.
Almost everyone else was saying comunists are the ones who work the children when they're 5. If Cuba is such a great nation, how come no one is allowed in or out of it? Sodam killed so many people. An ectera, everything to disagree with Jim about.
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with either, but I wanna know what you think about it, and whose side would you be on if you were in the class?

communism messed the world up and sodam is just plain horrible for what he did and child labor is just wrong, I would take the classes side because no nation/state is a greate nation/state if they use child labor laws.

By child labor laws they mean laws prohibiting it.
With government it's a give and take. None is perfect and, as humans, we're more than capable of mucking up any plan that looks good on paper. The argument is endless.

oh...hehe, sorry....well, knowing this information, I'd still keep to myself and not take any side. if someone is gonna mess up the world I don't want to be included....
btw, does george travel outside PH? if someone spilled information about him does he capture them and retreat to PH or kill them?

*sigh* Communism/Socialism are great theories but they would never EVER work in practice. Communism won't work because power corrupts. And before the goverment disintegrates it has to be very strict with the population. That's the wall each country hits when they put it in practice. And of course, those IN power are very reluctant to give it up. This is the stage we saw Russia in and the way we See Cuba, China and North Korea today. Thought I think N. Korea is more of a Dictatorship, so Was Iraq. In short, i blame those in power, not the system when "leaders" commit atrocities.
I support the theories, 3nodding If ever put into practice i'm gonna give it a try and encourage others too as well. But of course, keep those guns and hand books handy for when the goverment starts going wrong. xd

Th reminds me of the stupid things my drivers ed teacher told us. I didn't learn one thing in that class. But i had a blast with a few of my friends in there. I remember he spent like two classes telling us how to create a variety of cocktails. It was quite interesting but completely defeated the purpose of how he was telling to not drink sense he was basically telling us EXACTLY how to create each and every drink and which ones were the best tasting lol it was hilarious! xd

As interesting as the topic may have been, I'm a bit puzzled why it was being discussed in a driver ed class. eek
It's kinda like how my German teacher would get side tracked when ever we brought up questions about Germany and the war not to mention the Nazi's and Adolf Hitler, it was great to discuss, but always took us off topic to learn any actual German. xd I saw that class as more of a History class then German.

I took drivers ed through a private class, so I only had one class, 8 hours long, on a saturday, no getting sidetracked.
I actually had to retake the written test to get my drivers license renewed a couple of days ago.
Anyways, communism works in theory, and it would be pretty cool if it actually worked, but it goes agaisnt human nature, people get greedy.
Several other countries have communism somewhat in practice, well socialism, like England, Canada, Italy, they all use socialistic health care. actually.... I use socialistic health care... Its not all that great, but its good in theory

Its not all that great, but its good in theory We have a democratic government here, but there are a few socialistic practices, like health care, which sometimes takes forever, but it really works. They saved my grandma's life a few months ago, so I'm really grateful. The children's national hospital is excellent, with a specialized unit for cancer. That really is the best hospital in the country, even including all the private ones.

I have Tricare, its the health care for the military, its pretty nice most of the time. Like I have free health care, completely free as long as its a military hospital, emergency, or a referral from a military Dr. Also, Tony has to be active duty for it to be free. But like, Tricare will not only pay for a specialist Dr, like a cardiologist, they will pay for my travel expenses to get there (if its over 250 miles) and they will also pay for our lodging. So when I have to get surgery in a year and a half, they will pay for my plane ticket down south, along with Tony's, then our hotel there and then either a rental car/taxi fees. Well they will reimburse us, but yeah, its pretty awesome
