She gave him a confused look though nodded and smiled a bit more, thankful they could put it to rest for a bit.
The waiter came again and the two ordered light dinners, their conversation likewise to avoid any more personal things until after dinner.
Once dinner was over, Jess could have really gone for a glass of wine though was curious as to what Alex had planned. "So where to next? What's this surprise you have in store?" She asked, slipping her sweater over her shoulders as they were preparing to leave.

"Back to the cafe. Only, we're not going inside."
Alex helped her get her sweater on and paid the bill at the front of the restaurant, and with everything squared away, Alex brought her away to the place where all this had started.
