If you want to get a good feel for it, I'd recommend a few books or movies. You can find some of your own that you think fit, and if you do, post them! It's good imagery, and we are an image-focused people. The image is the most information filled experience for us.

Ok. So that's kind of the frame of reference for your head, besides quantities and quantities of stuff that don't bear mentioning.
You should try getting yourself into the mood of the RP. Play ambient music, or whatever you feel appropriate.
I suggest when rping gets a little slow that you use some art in your posts. Google some images.
About the RP... well, it's pretty much about us taking a trip, saving the "world" from all sorts of things, having a great party, zombie slaying, walking the dog, keeping it real...
and if you haven't figured it out yet, it'll be absurd at times. Just roll with it when possible, and add to it when necessary.
On top of all that, this will deal heavily into mysticism, magic, God, the psychic realm, intelligence, and dreams, and to a smaller degree, psychotropics. As the subtitle, this is a bargain with the white rabbit.
Yes there is going to be combat. Both as we know it, and as we might not regularly perceive it. Please try and keep in mind that we will be diving primarily into a realm of symbols. A sword might have as much use as a pin when facing some nightmare from the abyssal unconscious, try using light, set your sword on fire. Besides that, a crossbow is always more useful then a shotgun against zombies: it makes no noise to attract other zombies you dumbass. Vampires are another story, as well as mad gods. Don't piss them off. Keep your rationality where it seems appropriate. You will know when things get a little twisty, and when things are perfectly normal. Relax. It isn't going to be completely trippy.
If you have a particular bend towards a set of beliefs, quote some it's stuff. If you're a Christian, try quoting the Bible when you try manipulating the weave. If you like the occult, draw a pentagram, or a magic square if you're into numerology. Perhaps you don't subscribe to a particular faith, and if so... stick your tongue out.
