my dog shadow has a very high energy level. he loves to play and jump on people and all that, but when it comes to agility practice, he just slugs along. ive tried treats and toys and stuff, bringing them along with me when im running him through the course, but he still drags his feet and doesnt seem interested at all. i always praise him when hes through with the course, even if he does it slowly. if anybody has any advice on how i can get my dog to put his energy to use on the agility course please let me know.

Take it slow. One thing at a time. Try and see if he has a favourite treat that he would die for. Start off by running around the yard and see if he'll run with you. Sounds like the agility is looking like work to him, not play. maybe try an excersize where you have the people he likes to play with run around the yard and he follows, then introduce one agility task into the fun and see if he'll play along. but yes, be patient, he needs to see that its fun!
