WELCOME TO TRANSFIGURATION
FIRST/SECOND/THIRD YEAR CLASSROOM

The Transfiguration classroom is a large room, about the size of a large classroom, though possibly a bit larger. It is built to accommadate forty students at one time, though rarely needs to do so. The room is sparsely decorated, as the point of the room isn't to draw students in for decorations, but rather for the learning. On the board are the written instuctions for the day. Students are expected to be on time to have all their assignments completed. Professor Arashi is strict with discipline, so be warned.

RULES

1) Follow all gaia TOS and all guild rules.
2) Behave in class.
3) Homework may or may not be assigned. Post it in my office. Do not post it to this thread, as the thread will get too crowded.
idea When posting the homework in my office thread, write "Transfiguration Homework #" on the first line, depending on what number it is.
idea On the second line of the post, write your character's name.
idea On the third line, write their year.
idea On the fourth line, write their house.
idea Skip a line and then should come the assignment.
4) Stay in character. Limit OOC conversation to a minumum.

Professor Arashi walked into the classroom. It was unusually empty, or maybe it was simply early. Whatever the case, she decided to take advantage of the situation.
She placed her bag under her desk and began to write on the board.

On the board, Professor Arashi
Welcome to Transfiguration.
Since you are new here and have either relatively some or no experience in the art of transfiguration, we will start with theory and basic transformations.
First Years: If you open your textbooks to chapter one, you will find a section on Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. This law is something that you will have to keep in mind. I would like you to look up one of the principles and write a few sentences on why do you think that transfiguration is unable to transcend the law's boundaries, meaning why we can't do transfiguration on the things it lists.
Third Years: Your task today is to transform a rock into a teacup. There are a few rocks sitting on each of your desks, as well as lots others on my desk. Practive this transfiguration until you are sure you have mastered it and then call me over to watch the transformation. If you can also transform the teacup back into a rock, you will receive two house points.

Once she finished writing, Professor Arashi sat down at her desk and began to leaf through the textbook, just to be sure that her lesson plans worked with it.

Eloel hummed as she plopped down in the first seat she saw that appealed to her: front row center, right in front of Professor Arashi's desk. She pulled out a black-feather quill and a sheet of parchment and quickly jotted down her name, the date, and her House. She then copied the board's instructions before tearing off the rest of the sheet, on top of which she placed the various rocks. Yawning, Eloel stretched out her arms and inspected each rock to find the nicest one. Sticking her wand behind her ear, she sorted each rock into one of three lines: nice shape, nice colour, and ugly rocks. Waiting for other students to come in, she stretched again, simply moving the rocks around in patterns.

Akrius strolled into class and was shocked to see it was mostly empty. Was he late? or early? he was sure his schedule said he had Transfiguration first. Akrius was ready to leave until he saw a girl who looked just a little older then him obssesively placing rocks in different orders on her desk.Maybe he wasnt late and class just simply hadnt started yet. Akrius cleared his throat and ran his left hand through his hair and walked to the table where Eloel sat and seated himself next to her. He nervously pulled his text book out and placed it on the table with his quill that had a dark feather that came from his pet crow Blue.

Professor Arashi looked up when she saw Akrius come into the room. Since he really wasn't doing anything, she cleared her throat to get his attention. Once she was sure she had it, she pointed to the board where the instructions for the day's lesson were. With that, she went back to her textbook. She figured she would start lecturing in a little bit, but since the class was still empty, it was probably best to not really start yet.
