I'm not exactly sure if this will fit in well.
Please forgive me if it doesn't.
But I'm going to be on my high school's student newspaper, and I need to come up with possible article ideas... and well my mind has drawn blank.
I have thought of:
Simple car care
Organization tips
Volunteering places
7 Class scheduling vs. block scheduling
Driver's Ed availability
Going Green [just tips on being more earth friendly]
Guitar Hero vs. Rock Band
Procrastination vs. Preperation
Budget Cuts
Music allowed during class
The Twilight Saga
Favorite subject in school
Olympics- Favorite sport/competitor
Safe Driving
Early start schools vs. Late start schools
Banned Books/Censorship
Best Summers/Vacations
Who should be the next President?
...
I need a few more ideas.
Please keep in mind it's a High School newspaper, so of course I wanted to think of things that would concern them.

Yay! I'm on my paper, too. For filler-space, try doing a piece on certain teachers, the intresting things about their life, etc. It's saved our lives when our reporters don't meet their deadlines.

Yay for my being the former editor of the newspaper at my school. Boo because I am not allowed to go back because a damn busy scheduel.
Oh well. This actually will be moved later, but I will let some people look and comment. And I will give you a few myself.
Yes, student and teacher profile is always good. (agrees with voxxy)
