"Relax Child," Imam said as he gently set Ellen down upon something made of a strangely soft stone that was slightly warm. "Everything is under control." A few demons tried to approach, but he shooed them away before they would enter her field of vision.

Lexi screamed as he slammed against the unseeable, indestructable prison. His protests however most likely went unheeded as he demanded his release from this infernal box, and for Alyssa's safety. He used every weapon possible, from his blade to his own body, but the walls refused to yield.

Finally, filled with rage, Lexi was free and charging towards Richard. His sword trailing behind him as it began to crackle with electricity. Leaping into the air before reaching Richard. He raised Nebula above his head and brought it down to strike the ground a good two feet to the left of Richard.

"What is going on here!?" Corrined demanded furiously as she stormed towards the two men, her traveling cloak flowing behind her. She ignored Lexi who continued to swing testingly in midair where he perceived Richard or Corrinne to be, and strode right up to her husband. "Explain."

Lexi finally stopped attacking and stood in a defensive posture, waiting for someone else to make a move.

“Does…Uncle know I am here?” Ellen asked, age old ‘stranger danger’ filtering in, but she couldn’t, entirely, bring herself to distrust the priest. Surely he wouldn’t do anything to harm her-but…what was this stone? Where…were they? “Everything?” Ellen asked, not doubting it, as she was used to being cared for, protected. “Father…I’m so tired…” The weakened girl whispered, drifting off to sleep despite it all, unable to remain awake. Peacefully, she slept.

Richard raised his own blade, other hand holding what appeared to be a yellow orb of some kind, glowing faintly around a darkened stone in its center. And then Lexi struck the ground next to him, sufficiently earning Richard’s slight bafflement, until he realized who’s magic he was sensing.

Expression went from grimly determined to damn near panicky. Corinne? Here? Now?!

He backed away from Lexi, from the screaming ball of flames, not daring to turn his back to either-and stopped, watching Lexi’s continued battling with air. He had not yet sunk low enough to attack a befuddled enemy.

“You-it’s-not time for-she-took-Ellen“ He got out to Corinne, and she’d realize his teeth were grit together, frost grey eyes on that ball of fire while he launched a lesser assault on Lexi in the form of an air missile-a smaller form of that had been what had pierced Alyssa’s eye-and found that it never reached the Legion, whom Richard had sought to break to immobility. What…the hell was going on in there?

Screaming deepened slightly in pitch-not a little girl’s screams anymore. A woman’s. And they were sounding less pained and more…angry… The swirling Wizard’s Fire suddenly erupted from the spot-little pieces of flame flying in all directions, blinding whiteness as a figure burst from the place, the light disappearing as soon as it’d come, yet leaving a pale after image.

Richard issued what sounded like a curse, maybe-doubling slightly over, his vision blurring. He knew she’d be coming. He was screwed. No, wait, Corinne-not her, not her, for the love of God no! Richard internally panicked, reaching wildly out-catching the wrist of his wife, and using sheer strength to pull her to him, turning as he did so-and transferred his protections to her, along with what he could magick in time. If all else failed-he’d shield her with his body.

The figure was a woman-dark, slightly waved tresses were hip length, and a billowing, long silk robe of a light blue color covered the woman’s shimmering paleness. Skin was luminescent, like the moon, and on her forehead was an inked black symbol, a long forgotten rune of some dead language. On both of her cheeks was one also, on the high point of her cheek bone. One would see that this same symbol was also on the woman’s palms, though the sleeves were long, so one might not.

Her beauty, however, was a terrible one-she inspired fear, not infatuation, and the amount of energy spiking from her person was terrifying.

She was a being of rage, not peace. A being of power, not humility.

And she was hurtling towards Richard at neck breaking speed, left eye closed and seemingly an empty socket, right open and shining with violence. His back was turned, and he was unprotected. Perfect.

“Not. Lexi.” And the being drew her right hand back, the tips of her fingers a transparent blue-like they were just light-and then thrust it forward, through Richards back on the left side-for his heart. Fingers came together, not actually touching-but definitely doing something, because Richard made a sound of muffled pain-shivered, and collapsed right off the being’s arm, thankfully not taking Corinne with him

The being pulled her hand back to her side, standing upright, looking down at Richard with a rather angry expression. “Idiot.” Was all she had to say, ignoring Corinne, dispelling the illusions Lexi had been suffering from, before she turned on her heel, walking boldly away with her back facing Corinne. It would be noted the being was shaking slightly-hands and body-and that she appeared to be shedding tears from her uninjured eyes-blood tinged ones.

She finally collapsed closer to Lexi, on her hands and knees, trying to recover her breath and some stamina.

Richard was not, as one might have thought, dead. He was, however, suffering Cardiac arrest. Oh well. The being couldn’t bring herself to care. She’s busy reigning her aura back to her, and staring at her hands. Slender, graceful hands, not hands of a little girl, and for a moment, she was mildly confused by that-until she recalled other things, and with those other things-her heart hardened.

Ellen first. Find the girl or kill her killer. Now. She leaned back, brought up one knee to begin to stand-and found she couldn’t, entirely. Body was damaged internally, somewhat.

Then she got to her feet, swaying a little-where was Lexi? She needed him, had to focus, had to think-there he was, was he alright? Was he okay? Richard hadn’t hurt him, had he?

"That's right my child," Imam said softly, stepping back from the altar. "Sleep. You will need your energy later." He chuckled to himself as he returned his attention to the situation outside his glorious castle. Well not his yet, but it would be soon. There were some powerful magics at work out there, hopefully the sources would eliminate each other before he had to deal with them. Oh well, the demons should be entering town soon anyways.

"Richard, you're not-" Corinne was cut off when the being exploded into place. She clutched onto Richard after he pulled her to him, and let out a terrorized scream as the figure streaked forward to attack them. "Richard!" She cried out as he collapsed, dropping to her knees and wrapping her arms around him. "No, you can't die, please," she sobbed, checking the man she loved for a pulse and letting out a small sigh when she found one. "Stay with me Honey," She whispered as she struggled to get the man up so she could get him to the hospital.

Lexi shook his head as the illusion dissipated, taking a second to get his senses back. "Lady Alyssa," he said without hesitation stepping towards her and placing a hand on her shoulder. "You are injured, you should rest," He said with concern evident in his voice. "Or perhaps we should find a doctor." He honestly wasn't sure what to do, but Alyssa would, and then he could help her.

"Here, let me help you," Nathan said to Corinne, stepping out from his impromptu cover now that the magic had mostly ceased. His body was filled with magic coursing through two cards that looked similar to tarot cards save for the fact that one had a depiction of the Roman goddess Venus and the other portrayed a salamander. "We should move quickly," he added, looking up to where several winged humanoid shadows were approaching from the forest.

"Against the law?"

Even through his gloves-a tingle of that all encompassing magical aura would be felt, like the woman was a live wire of magic, instead of electricity. Still shaking slightly.

Lexi would probably note that her uninjured eye was one him, and while before Alyssa sometimes cast that creepy, seeing through you look-it was nothing compared to this woman's gaze. And for a moment, it was like she was trying to determine if Lexi was a threat of some kind, one that should be treated accordingly.

"Ellen." She reminded, but lacked the connection-Lexi was no threat to Ellen-to do anything to him, and she didn't want to do anything to him in the first place, and she realized this and was confused by it. She raised her hands and held her temples, head down. Damaged. "Shouldn't...be...like this..." She said softly, like only Lexi should hear her sound anything close to unsure or pained. "b*****d hurt me-"

And then-dear God, she realized she wasn't small! Breathing went all funny, the magic protesting her realization and her condition-Richard had ******** her up bad, to make it so she looked like this-and the woman found she couldn't breathe, and rather than be disturbed-she was angry by that, and a flare of magic burst from her person, wayward and unintentional-and killed three winged demons dead.

Oh my. She's not controlling herself with an iron fist, and that was dangerous. But Ellen! The luminescent skinned woman dropped her hands, head snapping up at the remembrance. Her sister! Hurry, go, move, now-

And sure enough, she started in that direction after shaking Lexi off-she didn't attack him, which was amazing, because it seemed like she was a creature to attack everything and anything until a problem was solved- but with the amount of internal damage and the magic rebelling her proper form-she didn't get far before collapsing on the forest floor, her silk robe billowing a little, the folds slowly falling with her with an eerie sort of grace-just what the hell WAS Alyssa, exactly!? She was radiating energy like a damn light house emitted light-and it was mildly disturbing, that a girl had housed that sort of power, kept it all finely contained.

Richard did need medical attention. Badly. Heart was stuttering and going nuts within the large man's chest, like someone had plucked a wrong note on a sensitive instrument and sent it warbling some messed up, incorrect song. He wasn't conscious, and then he slipped into it again, frost grey unfocused, on the ground. "'Rinne?" He uttered the second syllable to his wife's name, then jerked slightly as another heart spasm rocked through his chest.

Heart attack? Now? But the man doesn't realize that's what happening. He only realizes that he's under an extreme pressure, that he'd been limited. And now he'd die-wouldn't he? Pain in his chest, hurting him-he was a dead man now. Where...was...his wife? Where...was...his niece? Alyssa took her-somewhere, the girl was too fragile to be moved from the hospital, too ill-but...Alyssa, had not died. There was no way she had survived his spell-but she had, and she'd attacked again, no longer anything-monster.

She was a monster, but Corinne was alive. Could an evil being leave any alive? Had...he been wrong? But-he saw her in there! He knew!

Richard passed out again, unable to think through his own muddled confused brain. ((*Has to go*))

"Lady Alyssa, please," Lexi said, hoping to get her to rest for a while. Unfortunately she remained fixated on her sister. Lexi knew Miss Ellen needed rescuing, but he wouldn't watch her destroy herself for it. While he was slightly relieved when she collapsed, he was mostly worried. He still had no idea what it was that Richard had done to her, or why she had changed into this form. Carefully he bent down and lifted her into his arms. The intense magic she radiated was reacting with his very being to cause him spasm occasionally and moderate pain. Still he held Alyssa to his chest and headed towards the hospital as fast as he could.

"I can carry my own husband thank you very much," Corinne said, lifting Richard with surprising strength. "If you want to help then get rid of those creatures," she said a bit coldly. Richards health was all that mattered right now. She was pretty sure something had happened to her niece, but she wouldn't be able to do anything about that until Richard could at least tell her what was going on. And what the hell happened to Alyssa to make her like that!?

"Right," Nathan said, a bit taken aback. That woman was scary, well they were both a bit intimidating. He rummaged through his deck of cards to replace the ones affixed to the breast of his shirt. "Here we go," he said, swapping the Venus card for one of Uranus and the Salamander with a Griffon. "This should work," he said, as the two others sprinted towards the hospital with their loved ones. The magic surged in his body, resulting in a bright light as he floated above the ground and the image of a giant griffon soared into the skies unleashing a gale of razor sharp winds at the oncoming demons, severing many of them in half and relieving several others of their limbs.

As he set down on the ground, he was panting heavily from exertion and began staggering towards the hospital, Lexi and Corinne had a staggering lead on him already. "We need immediate medical attention!" they said simultaneously as they reached the emergency room counter. "My Husband's Having a heart attack!!" Corinne said, vying for first treatment. "Lady Alyssa is missing an eye!!" Lexi countered.

It was a few hours later and Lexi and Corrinne were sitting impatiently in the waiting room while their loved ones were being treated. They had been "asked" to remain there due to their over enthusiasm in trying to get attention. They weren't alone however. The waiting room was steadily filling with the friends and families of people who had been attacked by the seemingly endless swarm of demons. Nathan had stopped by briefly to see how they were doing and to assure them that if Ellen had been sacrificied yet they would already know. Then he left again to help defend the hospital and surrounding area presumably. He had promised to explain what was going on once Richard and Alyssa were recovered, but there was no indication of how long that would take.

"Against the law?"

"I SAID-" Alyssa burst, struggling to fend off a beefy nurse who was attempting to keep her pinned to the bed, pressing her wrists painfully into her stomach. Enough of that-

With a spark of energy, the woman was sent sprawling to the floor. "No." The luminescent skinned woman finished softly, pretty face darkened in expression.

The remaining nurses and doctor fled.

Alyssa did not care. She sat up further, touching a spot they had stitched earlier, while she'd been unconscious. She touched the place with her index finger-and the ugly black thread marring her skin appeared to melt into it, disappearing along with the wound, leaving no evidence it had happened.

If only she could do that with her eye...

Alyssa bit her lip softly, carefully placing a plain white pad over her missing left eye. She couldn't hold it AND bandage it to keep it there at the same time, however.

But she didn't want those people touching her, either. At least her magic was more under control. Her body had healed most of the internal damage itself-but she had energy to spare, carefully keeping it under control, but unable to suppress it completely.

"Against the law?"

Richard, on the other hand, did not recover so well from the fight.

Color drained from his face, the giant of a man seemed to have been sapped of strength. He was lying on his back in bed, a hospital gown with a clear tube running out of it. He'd gone through two surgeries, and was scheduled for yet more.

He had stitches running along in a nasty line over his heart where they'd opened him up once, and yet more beneath those where they'd opened him up a second time.

They'd stabilized him, but his blood pressure was very low, and he was suffering some bleeding in the brain. But he was, in the very least, alive.

The doctor came calmly into the room, going to Corinne. "He's had a rough night, Ma'm-but he's pulled through so far...you could go see him, but he must not be excited in any form-if he even wakes. Understa-"

He was cut off though, as another doctor came racing in, pointing at Lexi. "She's not letting any of us even in the ROOM anymore-it's unbearable, she threw a nurse to the floor-" And other complaints as he seized Lexi's wrist, trying to pull the Legion into the hall and to the 'blasted woman's' room.

"Which would never have happened if you had allowed me to stay with her as I requested," Lexi said calmly as he let the man guide him to Lady Alyssa's room. It was a shame that some of the staff had been injured, but Alyssa was far more important to him than any of them. Once they arrived in front of her room, he motioned for the doctor to step away before knocking gently. "Lady Alyssa," he called in from the hall. "It's Lexi, may I come in?"

"I won't do anything rash doctor," Corinne said as she stood, a look of tentative hope on her face. Her overall appearance was less than her normal standards. Her hair was beginning to frizz slightly, and if anyone looked closely enough it would appear as if her outline was beginning to frizz as well. Truthfully, her concern for Richard was consuming some of the focus she subconsciously used to keep herself together. "Just please let me see him." She needed to see her husband, to have some proof that he was okay beyond the word of the hospital staff.

Outside the hospital, the situation was worsening. The demons continued to pour out of the castle and anyone caught in the streets found themselves in grave peril. Mysteriously the demons seemed unable to enter most buildings as long as the doors and windows were closed. It was because of this that Nathaniel decided to focus his energies on guiding the few survivors he found in the streets to various safe havens around town.

"Against the law?"

Remaining vibrant blue eye flickered to settle on the door, and Alyssa watched it for several moments.

Lexi, and some doctor. Only the doctor was not at the door. Just Lexi.

For several moments, she seemed thoughtfully suspicious-and then, after a moment, she nodded to herself, and the door clicked, swinging open on it's own accord to admit him.

Alyssa, however, was no longer watching it. Instead, she was unraveling plain white bandages, intending to wrap and tie them behind her head, to hold the white eye patch in place.

She did not know what she was going to do about it-but she did not care. Only Ellen mattered now. Not even the desire to go into the hospital room five doors down from her own to finish off Richard mattered.

Though she very much wanted to do that. Then again, she also wanted to destroy the hospital. No reason. Just rage. Rage was bad right now, she understands-but only barely. Thank God for her control.

"I can't make it stay by myself." She said to Lexi, ink black tattoo's on her cheekbones seeming almost liquid reflecting in the rooms dimness, skin luminescent despite the absence of moonlight. "Will you do it?" She inquired, delicate fingers moving gracefully along the bandage's length.

Such things her graceful hands could do...she wished they she was still small. She was a safer being when she was small.

"Against the law?"

"Right this way..." The doctor said in his hushed voice, leading Corinne down the hall to Richard's room, raising a disapproving brow in the direction of the doctor cowering outside Alyssa's room.

He opened the door for Corinne politely, and once she entered, he did as well, quietly closing the door.

"He's weak, but holding on, Mrs. Saverell. His heart was not strong before-but it's worse now." He told her, eyes straying to Richard a moment, then back to Corinne. "If there's any problems, do not hesitate to call for me. I'm going to get some coffee-can I bring anything to you?"

"Of course," Lexi said, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. "You are looking well," he said, looking over her injuries, or lack there of as it were. "Is your eye able to return?" He inquired as he took the bandages and firmly, but gently secured the patch in place. "Or should I be looking into stylish eye patches for you?" He added as an attempt to lighten the mood a little.

"Sir Nathan believes that your sister remains alive at the very least," Lexi said seriously now. "I don't possess the ability to actually feel her presence, but I feel inclined to believe him. What is your opinion?"

Corrinne nodded to the doctor and quietly tiptoed up to Richards side, ever so lightly placing her hand on his. "Richard," she said, just barely above a whisper. "How are you feeling?" She wanted to avoid talking about the girls to avoid upsetting him, but she expected it would be the first thing he asked about.

"I grow bored of this," Father Imam commented idly in the castles altar room. He had been pouring his demonic minions into the surrounding area, but there was too little blood shed occurring. Those in town somehow managed to find shelter, perhaps some ancient ward shielded the towns older buildings. The small inn he had resided at seemed to haven a far more powerful protection placed upon it. No, it was growing apparent that if he desired some entertainment he would have to draw his prey into his lair.

"Miss Ellen," he said, rising from his chair and stepping over to the altar where the girl rested. "It is time for you to awake." He had forced her into a magical sleep a while ago so he wouldn't have to deal with her constant questions. He was quite confident that the altar's innate magics could keep her on the very precipice of death indefinitely. It was important for her to be alive when he finally sacrificed her, something for which he would very much like an audience present for it.
