i had a great time at otakon this year! i was kinda disappointed that i didn't get to many panels or screenings, but i still had fun. i wish they had that 'anime you should see' panel more than once, i missed it. but it was great to see everyone in costume, and i met a lot of nice people. and i was super impressed with the artists alley, i thought the art was really good this year.
the low part of my con experience was the dealer's room. they had absolutely nothing i wanted to buy! everything they were offering was mainstream stuff that i could easily purchase at border's or wherever. for me, a big part of going to otakon is finding new or obscure stuff you can't find anywhere else. i didn't find anything new this year and that stunk.
and oh yeah... what was with having only 2 main industry companies giving out free stuff this time? with the amount of money i pay to actually go to the thing, i expect to get more than just 2 free posters... confused

I had a good time! It was partly the folks I was with, half the reason I got to Otakon is to catch up with people I don't get to see otherwise. I didn't do much con stuff other than the Gaia panel and Peter Beagle panel. Its kinda funny, for me last year I didn't see much I wanted at the dealer room, but this year I saw a bunch of stuff XD. I spent more than I should have, but I have stuff! And I got to see Peter Beagle which was really cool. Yeah, there wasn't much free stuff in the dealer room, but usually half of it I don't really care about anyway so I didn't care. I did snag a couple posters and one of those blow-up Mokonas.
