Uhm, hi y'all, I'm a newbie to this guild so I thought I'd commemorate my arrival with a lil' thread involving some questions that I DEMAND ANSWERS FOR!
Politely, of course. :]
Okies, question one.
In Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility, it is said that there are 10 different child variations that depend on your spouse. It is also said 5 of this variations are of the male variety, and 5 are of the female variety.
I just wanna know if anyone knows how gender selection for your child works ;^^
Do you get to pick if your child is a boy or girl, or does the game pick for you at random??
I realize the game isn't out yet, so my question may be left unanswered, but y'never know, right?? x3
Question two.
IS IT TRUE THAT THE RELEASE DATE FOR HARVEST MOON TREE OF TRANQUILITY HAS BEEN BUMPED BACK TO SEPTEMBER 16TH?!?!?
If so, I will be very much displeased.
I heard that it was bumped back from a friend today.
Then I check around at some sites.
One of the sites that I'm almost certain had said the release was August 26th, now says September 16th like my friend had told me.
OH SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!

As for the first question:
The child's looks and personality will be decided by who you marry just like in AWL and AnWL. I have also read that there's a scene in the game where you can choose which gender it will be.

I've never played a Harvest Moon where you can have a girl child sweatdrop

Yes. It is true. ToT has indeed been pushed back until Sept. 17th (or 16. Whatever the Wednesday is of that week).
I went to Gamestop today and found out the date was pushed back.
I died a little inside.

And yes. You kinda get to pick the gender of the child. You're wife/husband will ask you to go to the church to pray for a healthy birth and he/she will ask you about the gender. You're response options will be a boy, a girl, or it doesn't matter. If you pick the third option, you'll get a 50/50 chance to have a boy or girl.

I am excited now x3 As for the date being pushed back, I'm not as bothered about it as I was before. I mean, I still wish I were playing it RIGHT THIS INSTANT but I mean, Natsume is glitch and typo-prone when it comes to some Harvest Moon games xD So, if they feel they need to take longer to perfect the perfect game, then so be it ;D

I've heard on Gamefaqs that the dates may have been switched between ToT and Island of Happiness. So instead of ToT being released on August 26, that now Island of Happiness will be.
But you guys need to remember, none of this is certain and these are all rumours. It still could be released this month, who knows until it actually happens.

and for your child question
there are five different types of children you can have, Five different ones depending on which husband you marry and FIve for what Wife you marry.
However there are not 10 different kids, because they overlap.
For example: If you marry Leena, Tai, Chihaya, (whoever chiyaha marries) your kid will be the same.

Actually, the games were supposed to be released on the same day: August 26th and for some reason ToT got pushed back til Sept 16th. If you check with retailers, they have the "official" dates (I use the word "official" loosely since..well..we all know that there is never an offical date til it's released...)
