from what i understand the kitchens' topic can be random....and this certainly is that >.<

i was just wondering if any of you have experianced a hacking? i got hacked yesterday and i have no idea how...no one knows my password and i've never even heard of the person who did it. she took EVERYTHING. i suppose i'm just ignorant to what all people can accomplish with a computer...but how could someone do that?

sorry if this is too random, but i'm just upset and needed a little ranting time T.T but i would like to know if anyone has an idea how someone is capable of hacking a random person's account with no information on them whatsoever?

you know...it's kind of sad that i'm getting so emotional over pixels x.x but they were cute pixels! i miss my sweetheart teddies *sniffles*

First off, maybe in the main forum we need to set up hints for Gaia security.
As for the hacking.

Number 1 way to be hacked on Gaia -> Phony pms.
A person can send you a pm with a link, and when you click on the link, it looks like your logged out and need to log back in.
To avoid this, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR URL.
Secondly, after this happens, CLOSE YOUR BROWSER, CLEAR YOUR HISTORY,
CLEAR YOUR COOKIES.

Number 2 way to be hacked-> Poser ADMINS.
Again, you receive a PM from a hacker, only in this one, they claim to be an administrator, and say that if you don't verify your password, your account will be deleted.
Admins, developers, Mods, whatever, will NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD.
This is why YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE ANYONE YOUR PASSWORD.

Number 3 way to get hacked-> Towns.
Towns is currently filled with scripters, and apparently there is a way for them to steal your cookies and become you.
Personally, I suggest AVOIDING TOWNS,
but if you must go....
AS SOON AS YOU LEAVE TOWNS, LOG OFF YOUR BROWSER, CLEAR YOUR HISTORY, CLEAR YOUR COOKIES.
