Lunar's eyes widened and then returned to normal. "Well, I can't say that's something you normally see everyday," she said chuckling softly. "That's a neat trick, and thanks for the matches," she said with a wink. Turning on the gas and carefully lighting the cook stove she set the pot of water on and retrieved a few tea leaves from an old box on her shelf. She set two small cups with minor chips in them onto her makeshift table and waited for the water to boil. "So," she said turning to Kiris, "I know my place isn't much but at least it's dry and warm."

"I guess it's not everyday for most people."
Kiris hadn't yet stopped to think about that point. He used his mind to control the motion of things nearly everyday. He used it to distract people while he picked their pockets, he used it to get the attention of a bar off him while he ran out if he couldn't pay. He could scarecly think of a day he hadn't uued it. He realised though that the sole reason it worked was that it wasn't everyday for others. Then again, neither was the sometimes crippling cough, Kiris reflected. The rasps he called breaths weren't everyday for them either. Niether was one eye. He guessed the saying was true: Every gift had it's curses. Kiris opened his mouth and responded to the girl's last remark.
"I disaggree. Warm and dry might not be much to you, but it's better than anything I've had for a long time. Thank you for your hospitality."
Indeed, the most Kiris could remember having was a full flask and dry cloths, in addition to what was in the leather pouch on his belt. Hell, in a short while, he'd have real tea momentarily. Real tea. Something that wasn't rainwater or stolen fish. He knew he'd only be warm and dry for awhile longer, until the rain let up. Warm and dry though, even forn a little while, was a luxury rarely afforded to him, that usually only lasted the depth of a glass of rum. Two glasses, if he was lucky.

Lunar turned back to Kiris, "You're welcome," she said as she turned back to the now boiling pot of water. Turning off the gas and shutting off the flames she crushed the tea leaves and dropped them into the bottoms of the two cups and poured hot water into them soon after. "Hang on a sec," Lunar said as she took the herbs she had gathered outside from her pocket and carefully ground them up into Kiris' tea. "Your lungs sound pretty bad, these herbs should help them a little. It's not real medicine but it gets rid of the pain and helps to soothe breathing."

As if hearing that they'd been mentioned, Kiris' lungs issued another harsh cough. He swallowed the blood, and raised his right arm and wiped on it the small bit that had found an escape from his mouth, and trickled down his cheek. Kiris sighed, knowing his bout was one of the more mediocre. For this he was glad though. Durring some fits, he was unable to move. Durring the more severe ones, he was forced to drop to one knee, and in the worst cases, fall to the ground clutching his chest. He was indeed thankful it hadn't been one of those. He'd enjoy though, at least a little relief. If nothing else, the hot tea would calm the scratching pain in his throat.
"Considerate of you. you didn't have to go to such trouble. It's only a bad cough. I'm sre it'll be gone in a few days or so."
Yeah, and back in less, Kiris thought to himself. Still though, he'd live with it. He'd been doing so for awhile. There was already a small red puddle on the ice over the lake from before dawn that morning. That had been the residue of a slightly worse fit han this. Kiris had managed to sleep through the bulk of it. It wasn't the first time he'd woken up to find half of his face red and sticky. He doubted it'd be the last.

While reading the wanted ad for a "Gaurdus Augustus" he here's some commotion coming from a nearby house and quickly runs towards it. "What's going on in here? Wait a second you look familer." Joseph then checks the picture in the wanted ad and sees that this person looks exactly like Gaurdus Augustus. "Ha! This is good and I was starting to get bored to!" Joseph draws his Sais ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/103-8022512-7110226 ) .
"Will you come with me to the police station peacefully or do I need to kill you to collect my bounty." Says the bounty hunter with a grin.

Lunar nodded to Kiris and handed him his cup of tea. She gently blew on the steam and took a small sip before sitting down at the table. "I hope that the herbs do help as I only know a little about medicine. You have to learn when you live by yourself." She stated. "So, where do you live?"

Kiris sipped the tea in small amounts at first. the scrathing at the back of his throat went away with the first few sips. He also began to breath slightly easier. The rasps were still there, only a bit softer. He did not have to breath as deeply anymore, as he dscovered with the next few sips. The tea was hot, but it soothed the cuts in Kiris' throat as it went down. He took larger gulps, breathin a bit easier with each. He knew it wouldn't totally stop the effects of his deformed lungs, but it lesseed it just a bit. Kiris would take a bit, even if it was all anything'd ever take away. He siged, then tossed the cup forward, locking his eyes on it. As it fell, he brought it back up using his mind, and floated it to the table.
Kiris chuckled softly at the girl's question. He thought about it, then decided that there'd be no harm in answering. It wasn't like she, or anyone else, would likely find him again unless they invested some serious time into it. He doubted anyone would want to find him once they encountered him first, besides the bill collecters still on him about the hospital. That and possibly an angry bartender or two, whose charges he'd evaded by distraction and a fast sprint. But no, there was no harm in telling someone who'd given him such hospitality, elimnating him needing to find a storefront or some kind of box to hide from the rain in, once he got too wet. That worked out, Kiris finally answered.
"I live anywhere I can find, and nowhere for long. Some call me a bum, I don' like the term though...it's too blunt."

Lunar nodded to Kiris. "Well," she said, "you can stay with me whenever you need to. I used to live on the streets before I dug this den, it's not much fun." Pouring herself another cup of tea she asked Kiris if he'd like another one as well. Lunar cocked her head for a moment and twitched her ears and then seemingly satisfied, gave a smile. "Your lungs sound better already."
