Looking out of his depths and more than a little bemused, Howl followed obediently behind, trying to remember how he had gotten sucked into this misadventure. He was not sure about in life (if he had ever actually been alive), but he had never in all his long time as a ghost set foot on a ship. It was small and cramped, with no where to escape from the constant watching of the humans. But he did not trust the Captain, not with his Lie (and when had she become that?), and for her he would endure. She was so excited about the voyage that he could not have brought himself to try to dissuade her, even had he thought it possible.

Lie runs straight into Blackey. He scoops her up and cuddles her to his chest. She just giggles and wiggles onto his head. "So Blackey where does Howl sleep? Huh??" Blackey grabs her by the mouth and rips her off his head. "SHUSH! It is late and my head is pounding." she lets a 'mmuurrrmph' and First Mate very quickly scoops her out of the irriatable captains hands. Lie lets out a squeek as Firsty tucks her to his chest and goes down below to the hammocks to point things out. He looks back at Howl and says," You will have to squish in with one of the crew. The captain had a lot of luck with the crew this time. They are very inspired by little Lie." he says looking down at Lie. "I would advise being prompt because the crew arent any better than the captain in this moment." he murmurs unhappily. He sets Lie down on her wobbly feet and walks out saying,"I will see you soon hopefully. Watch your backs and trust on one."

Howl watched the first mate leave, a look of consideration on his face. He hadn't planned on trusting the crew, they were pirates after all. They couldn't steal his items, due to their nature, and he didn't think they would want to risk alienating Lie, but there were worse things than theft. But just who was this mysterious man, who did not trust others with so much as his name, but who gave warning to a couple of strangers? He would bear the closest watching of all. "Hm, well I do not relish the thought of sharing a hammock with a drunken sot of a pirate, so perhaps a deck berth for me." He pulled a pillow from beneath his cloak, and lay it on the ground beneath Lie's hammock, from whence he could also guard her. He was a very light sleeper, when he bothered at all. "Do you mind, my lady?"

Lori Lie laughs,"You always pull out the weirdest stuff from there. Do you keep thing in there or is it your widgets she questions leaping above Howl to cuddle in her hammock. She then lies down while looking over the edge. "I am honestly really glad you don't want to share a bed with crew. I like it when you are closer to me. I would prefer you slept WITH me, not below, but yes, this is fine." she answers smiling down at him like angel with horns.

"Yes, it is my items. They really are quite versatile, though limited to small and relatively simple things." Howl raised an eyebrow at her suggestion. "As delightful as that suggestion is, your hammock is regrettably too small for my new, larger form. And while I don't believe I could die again, I would not like to test the theory by being lynched by a jealous crew. It is bound to be unpleasant, at the very least." He smiles. "Perhaps another time, once we return from this voyage." And with that promise, he curled up beneath Lie's hammock and pretended to go to sleep. He wasn't sure how much longer he could hide his slight blush.

Lie rolls back over on to her back. "Those must be so handy." She then pouts," Aw come on, don't use logic on me now!" She then pops her head back over. "Can we die???" she questions and starts to ponder. She then snaps out of it quickly and squeels ,"Ya promise?" she says excitably. She pokes Howl half hanging out of her hammock. "Aw come on, no sleep!" At that comment a load of of drunk crew mates come stumbling in and collapse in hammocks or near by to one if they miss.

Howl smiles. "But I am always logical. It will be a good balance for you." he teases. "I do not know if we can die, but I would rather not find out the hard way. And pain without the release of death..." He shakes himself from that thought. "We shall see. And yes sleep. It has been a very long day, and even if the body, such as it is, does not require sleep, the mind does." Howl was now doubly glad he had not chosen a hammock. He would have been squished by a falling body, drunk as they were. And he could smell the alcohol and stale sweat from here.

Lie rolls on her back and lets her head dangle off the hammock while looking at the ceiling. "I guess you're right. On the dead factor and on the matching factor, you logic user you." She says laughing. "I don't wanna sllleeeeeeppp and my mind is dine and fandy." she then pouts at her own mistake and gives in,"Fine, plus you are going to need sleep for some rough work tomorrow." The one of the sailors grunts and shouts "SHUT UP" Lie falls quiet but whispers," Night" and rolls back in and promptly conks out.

"Good night, dear heart." He whispers back, already more asleep than not.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The next morning, Howl awoke to find Lie's hammock much closer than when he went to sleep. It's burden seemed heavier somehow, and a tumble of silky hair was visible at one end. Not fully awake yet, Howl pondered this for far longer than he should have had to. He knew there were no other females on board, human females on a ship were bad luck. And they would not have been sharing Lie's small hammock if there had been one, not to mention he thought he would have awoken when they climbed in. That left one possibility. If it was true, she was going to be insufferable. He glanced over the edge of the hammock, and was not sure whether to groan, stare, or pick her up and whisk her away before any of the crew caught a glimpse of her.

Lori Lie wakes up half spilling from her hammock. She groans and rolls over to see Howls face right near her face. She gives out a tiny shriek before covering her mouth with her hands. Her thoughts on her shrinking hammock gone. "HOWL! What are you doing! You scared me so bad!!" she complains. The cabin is empty, everyone up on deck working.

"Dearest, I was only admiring your beauty, which seems to grow more radiant by the day. If you continue at this rate, I will soon become most jealous and have to hide you away in a tower where no other men can see you." he said with a mock-stern expression. He then gave in, chuckling. "Have you not noticed a certain... change in your situation?"
