Let's discuss philosophy you guys. SInce that's pretty open ended, I'll start you guys off with a question.
Buddha says that the only way to be truly free is to break ourselves from attachment.
But, being a hot blooded American, I've always found breaking from attachment is equivalent to rejecting life.
So, can you truly say that you are living if you reject attachment? Or have you lost your freedom by saying that you love ergo, attached to anything?
Input?

All I can say is that above anything freedom should always be valued, no matter what, its better to die on our feet, than to live on our knees as slaves. whee but, that's just me. sweatdrop

Oh, that's a philosophy that I've been living by for years. But here's where we really give our mind a workout.
Are we free? Do you love your family? If you do, would you do anything to help them out of the love in your heart? And if you would, would that make you not free? Isn't is stripping your freedom to give yourself up like that? This is the philosophy I'm talking about. Let's get right down to it folks, as long as you all love things are you free? And if you live without love for the sake of freedom, then are you even living? Give me any answer, because with any answer we can start doubting our answers until we get the unbridled truth.

Awesome. cool
You can consider yourself free, technically speaking you are not binding yourself because you are doing it willingly, if it were against your will then that's another thing. 3nodding Of course you are free, you are not free when you get that one feeling, when you are doing something, and it goes against what you would be willing to do without a question, right? Of course, normally a life can be defined by many things, its what we make of it, their is no one definite life, though there may be majorities, however, that does not mean its the correct one. 3nodding
Your turn. wink xd

Yeah, but isn't saying "everyone has a different definition for life" a cop out. I mean, there has to be some universal truth out there.
And as far as free because you're willing goes.
Why are you willing.

True, but its what we make of its, not everyones life is perfect for someone else, you wouldn't see someone who lives in warm climate enjoy a cold climate. cool
You are willing, or in my case, because I don't feel ache in my sul to do something I want to do, or was asked to do, I feel liberated to help because its become part of my nature, my life, my style of ways. cool

Thunderboltx True, but its what we make of its, not everyones life is perfect for someone else, you wouldn't see someone who lives in warm climate enjoy a cold climate. cool You are willing, or in my case, because I don't feel ache in my sul to do something I want to do, or was asked to do, I feel liberated to help because its become part of my nature, my life, my style of ways. cool It's part of your nature?? AS if you've always been that way?? As if you had no control over it being there fore no freedom of choice since what you do is your nature?? And even if you say it was you who created your nature how did you go about doing this? And while everyone makes something different of this world, I'm not asking for opinion, I'm asking for truth. Cold weather people do not like the heat, but people in both climates understand at least one truth and that is that it's cold some places and hot others. So, what of the mind, body and soul? How do we know we exist? How do we know we're the same person from one moment to the next?? How can we know anything in this world is real and does it even matter?? These are the kinds of truths I seek. Moreover, sorry for being absent so long. My life's been getting a bit bump and I've haven't been posting much because of it. So, now for at least a little while, I am back.
