I'm sure that most of you have heard/said the word "pigs" being used to describe police officers.
But do you know where that term came from?
In the late '60s/early 70's there was a serial killer by the name of Charles Manson, which I'm sure you have all heard of.
He gathered a small "group of misfits" out in Los Angeles to help him do his dirty work.
Where does the term "pigs" come into play?
The group decided on their first kill, actress Sharon Tate. She was home alone, pregnant, with friends while her husband was out of the country or something like that.
Everyone was asleep when the Manson "family" arrived and they immediately woke everyone up and gathered them in the main room. Two of the guests tried to run, but were caught on the lawn and stabbed to death. The other guest was either stabbed or shot, I don't remember. And Sharon was stabbed a few times herself. But she wasn't dead yet.
Watson, one of the "family" members, pulled out some thick rope and tied it around Sharon's neck and then around her guest's neck. They hung her.
Using a towel, they wrote "Pig" on one of the door frames, using Sharon's blood.
The public as well as the police thought that they were calling police "pigs".
When really the term "pig" meant "Upper class and/or upper middle class."
I don't recall who they murdered next but I know that it was a man and his wife who had just gotten back into town from getting their boat for their son and his friends to use during the summer.
This time they wrote "Death to pigs" on the wall.
And as you know pretty soon they were caught.
But then there was the hippie movement and Charles got out of jail.
And then I fell asleep. xD
... I really watch too much TV.
