Evening began as any other in Matope. The Kimeti were winding-down after a full day's sprightliness; the elders and youth growing weary more rapidly.
It was on this night anomalous clouds rolled in from the west. The dusk-filled sky grew unusually sinister, which caught every creature's watchful eye. A short trek from the crowd, Radiance-in-Song and Silken-Rain (a newly joined couple) were the only unawares.
And then the single lightning bolt struck from the heavens.
Expeditiously, Radiance-in-Song gave birth to a phantasmal wonderment previously unknown to the land- forever altering life in the once-serene swamp.
