uh, it is painted. the scan is just really bad quality, the way it looks at home is the grey is just darker and the skin is more yellow.
I would do a background, but I think it might draw away from the picture itself, and what would I have as a background (give suggestions please, if you can think of anything good)

um, well to that, I just have to ask what you mean by it being shakey? It is a sketch (all my drawings are, I usually draw them as a plan for something bigger), so I'm not worried about that comment.
