I don't think they would have two of everything- as that would over complicate the animal and be impossible for an animal to live with that- expecially with the double realy that both hearts and lungs would have to have to function together. What I would think of when I think Centaur is a larger heart housed in the horses body; as horses need to pump alot of blood to live this would be in the right preportion with the body and would probally take the place of where the horses lungs would be

The lungs would be in the chest cavity of the human body as breathing needs to be quick- if it's in the horses cavity then it takes longer for oxygen to reach the brain. This is also why a centaur heart would probally be larger then a normal heart because it needs to be able to pump the oxygen rich blood quicker to where the lungs would be.

These lungs would also be much bigger and probally take the place where the normal human heart would be as to run and support such a large body needs a larger suply of oxygen.

As far as stomachs go...Centaurs might have more then one functioning stomach...One in the human part and another in the horse part. They would probally only have one intestine in the horse body as the main part of intestions is to take out nuterents the stomach missed and to process the rest into feces. It would be kind of pointless to have two intestions other then the normal ones horses have as you'd be reprocessing crap...and it would increase the weight of the body with the extra organs.

I'm not a docter or anything- but I watched enough Discovery Channel to give it some thoughts.

Big Heart- Larger Lungs...everything else as is biggrin

I would agree with ya, but personally, I think the human body would be too small to hold large enough lungs, so either two pairs of lungs (which might work, they would be operating together) or the horse body would hold it, horses already have large hearts, as most large animals need, so the size would not increase so dramatically in size that it would replace the lungs <.<'

but yeah, one heart seems logical, just like one brain does as well. Though I read somewhere that octopuses have four hearts or so, and if dying from hunger, they eat one of them o.O' silly things, but anyways, they aint mammals.
