So... my mom decided today that we go out and watch a movie. We decided on the new Mummy movie, and went to the cinema across the street.

Now... my review.

It was simultaneously really awesome and really lame. But, that's what I liked about the first two films. It seemed like it was mostly fanservice at times, in the "For the fans of the first few films only" sense, but there was a bit of sexual fanservice (such as Rick without his shirt at one point), as well. Also, I kind of saw the plot twists from a mile away.

However, there were a lot of really awesome scenes, and they tried to make passing references to the first two films, even if there was no Imhotep.

It was good for making snarky commentary, though, at least in your mind.

Now, the reason why this has the word "spoilers" in the title.

*SPOILERS BEGIN HERE*

It was kind of obvious that Lin (if I got her name right) would be Alex's love interest. In fact, I figured it out the minute she appeared in the scene at the museum. In fact, I was counting the number of romance tropes I saw between them throughout the film. Let's see... actiony female, obvious romantic tension, the line "She's not my girlfriend!", immortality causing her to say that she could never get attached to him, a scene where they discuss how they're opposites of each other, Alex trusting her off the bat... it was kind of obvious.

My mom found the scene with zombie!General Ming to be HILARIOUS, as he was running around without an arm. In addition, she laughed at the point where one of the zombie soldiers got its head cut off, and felt the top of its neck, as if trying to find where its head was.

Also, I made a comment to myself, in the lowest voice possible, about "Zombies versus statues, who would win?".

There was another scene in where the emperor turns into a dragon with three heads, and I had to refrain from shouting, right in the cinema, "GET UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK!". But, that line might be getting old by now. XD

However, that scene with the fireworks? Awesome. XD

That scene where they went and killed the Emperor was also awesome. Same with the scene at the beginning, where they all turn into statues.

Edit- Forgot to mention. The ending where Jonathan moves to Peru, because he thinks that there are no mummies there, and then there's on screen text saying that later there were mummies discovered there was a favorite scene. XD

*END SPOILERS*

So.. yeah. I think the main attraction of this movie was the really awesome action scenes and the narm. As I said, it was both really awesome and really lame, and that's what I liked about it, and the films before it. My mom agreed with me about this.

Discuss?

owo I liked it. It was pretty good, and the various scenes involving humor made me lawls. especially the one involving the zombie's head getting chopped off and he was searching for it. I give it a pretty good review I guess.

Heh. The intentionally humorous scenes were funny too, like the scene where Rick is fishing, and he has trouble, such as getting a hook stuck in his neck, and it reaches a point where he starts shooting at the fish.

Later, there's that scene where Evy comments on him finally doing something that doesn't involve shooting, and spitting out a bullet. That, my friends, was two of my favorite scenes. XD

Also, if anyone knows.... WHAT THE HECK IS THE SPIRIT ABOUT? Why was the trailer all... fanservice-y/seductive? If you know, tell me. XD
