With trade-in specials I can get a used 20GB PS3 for less than $100 (trading the PSP, the PS2, and some games). I probably won't play online without an Ethernet cable anyway, and after a year or so I might put a bigger hard drive in it.
Thoughts?

Seems like a nice deal.

Seems like a nice deal. I have two games for the PSP: God of War and Patapon, neither of which have I played in a few months. I even picked up the PSP, expecting to enjoy some God of War, but after moving around a bit, I really didn't feel like playing any more.

So it comes down to this... Do you think you'll feel the same way about the PS3 as you do now about the PSP? You don't want to go through a Sony buying loop.

I don't think so (/hope not), because the PSP games SUCK right now, and it seems that 99% of them end up as ports to the PS2 anyway, which I'd be able to play via the 20GB PS3. @Sakyh, care to elaborate?

I didn't know there was such a deal. But, if there really is, then totally do it! I would, well, except for the PSP part, cause, well, I kinda hacked mine. sweatdrop

Dude, less than $100? That's a good freaking deal. I know Sony doesn't like going with multiple SKUs...but they could bring out a WiFiless 20GB that I think should be able to compete with the 60GB 360 at least.

Turns out I'm not getting the PS3 for a few reasons:
1. I need to save the cash right now. 2. The controller was a dirty and the top was scratchy. It might play fine, but I wouldn't trust that. 3. Finally got a chance to play Maverick Hunter X. I'm impressed, and I'd like to find a few games to try before I make a final decision.
