Ooc||: Continuing on from An Unexpected Gathering, as I don't think the whole going to Mt. Manu would fit with the intended title? ^^; But anyway, anyone can join in, even if you weren't in An Unexpected Gathering :] They're still in the jungle, but a lot closer to the volcano than before.
Lexie could now see the tip of their destination, billowing it's normal thick black smoke. It made her smile to be able to gaze upon it once more, as it meant she was finally home. It also meant that they would soon be able to make a good start on getting Helios better! Mt. Manu was really the best place for him to go, other than a humans home, but, she didn't know much about them or what they would do, so she had decided Mt. Manu would be best. After all, she knew about this place, and it would also be the place where Helios became attunded, so hopefully he would be even slightly familiar with it.
Lexie breathed a deep sigh, not really of relief, but, possibly just for the sake of sighing. The temperature was slightly warmer here, and she was really enjoying it, as Lexie really hated being cold. But, she couldn't help but worry about the others, and how they would cope with the temperature increase. She didn't know if they'd been here before, so she had no idea how it would effect them. She could only hope they would be ok.
"We're getting closer! See, there's the tip of Mt. Manu!" Lexie said enthusiastically, taking her mind off all the possible effects the heat might have on the others.

Not knowing what to do with himself, Cyrus was padding around in the jungle. The tips of his ears and tail followed the sun's rays, as if eager to drink up the energy. He was a little warmer than he was used to, but Cyrus didn't mind. In a way, he was exploring like he used to.

No reply. Wow, was no one happy that they were nearly there? They would be able to stop walking soon! Because, she didn't know about anyone else, but Lexie was starting to get very tired. Of course, she would only stop if everyone else was tried too, but, she didn't really know. Her comment on Mt. Manu has been the first words spoken for a few hours now. Lexie sighed again, deeply.
Her ears then picked up a rustling from not too far away. She glanced to left of her to see yellow markings moving at about the same pace as them. It couldn't be the suns rays, because the yellow didn't cut off at any point from the sun being blocked by a tree or something, but it was still very hard to see, because they were quite dim markings, and they blended in quite well. Lexie decided it would be best to be on her guard and wait to see what would happen.

Helios walked behind Lexie.
Well not really walking, more like dragging his feet against the ground, while using his front paws to drag himself forward. "Lexie-" Heliso gasped, throwing some drama in his tone of vioce. "I'm tiiiired!" Helios stopped crawling, and flopped onto his back. "I'm not going any farther, I'm sleep and my eyes sting and my stomach hurts!" HElios log-rolled around a little bit.

Cyrus turned his head upon hearing a voice. He blinked at the little gang of Palu to too far away from him. I wonder what they're up to...if Helios is involved, it can't be good. he thought.

Sarabi heard voices from beyong where she was resting, wondering who they could be. She was curious and rose to her paws, heading in the direction of the voices. The light breeze blew over her coat, the trees getting most of the wind. As she walked into a small clearing of the forest, she spotted a small group of traveling Palui. She tilted her head, wondering where they were going. "Excuse me?" Sarabi asked, her voice husky but soft. "Where are you going?"

Lexie rolled her eyes, and was just about to lecture Helios on how he should keep moving, and how it was for his own good, when another Palui caught her attention as it entered the clearing they happened to be in. She could tell from the Palui's voice that it was a female, but, Lexie couldn't help but stare. This Palui had the most interesting tail, she'd never seen one like it before. It was thin, and had no fur on it, until at the tip there was a large tuft of brown fur. But actually, it seemed to suit this female quite well.
Lexie was so wrapped up in examining her tail, that she almost forgot that the Palui had asked them all a question. "Oh, sorry!" Lexie exclaimed, snapping out of her interested stare, It was probably for the best, as it was rude to stare. Lexie looked at Helios, and decided to let him have his way. "Alright then Helios, we'll rest here" She said, then padded her way across the clearing to the female. She stopped in front of her, and smiled. "I'm sorry, what did you say? I didn't quite catch it" She apologized. It was true though, Lexie had only worked out that the female had asked a question from the tone of her voice, she hadn't actually heard what had been said.

Sarabi tilted her head, confused as to why the blue female kept on staring at her the way she was. Her tail flitted from side to side as she waited for an answer until the girl shook her head and apologized to Sarabi. The staring had made her slightly uncomfortable, but she got over it quickly. She smiled and waited as the blue female talked to her friend, saying that they'd rest in the clearing, and then trotted over to her. Sarabi repeated, "Where are you guys going?" Her tone was both friendly and curious.

Lexie noticed that she had made the female slightly uncomfortable, and blushed a bit. What a silly move of her to make! She quickly regained her posture, and focused on the females eyes, which she now saw where a peircing shade of red. Rather pretty actually.
"We're going to Mt. Manu" She said, glancing up at the volcano, "Because our friend managed to get himself sick" She continued with a sigh, then motioned towards Helios, then turned back, a small grin on her lips, "He really is a funny one" She laughed, then smiled back at the female. She should really ask her a question, in order to keep conversation flowing, but nothing came to mind. Nothing about anything else but the females tail. But seeing how it had made her uncomfortable, Lexie didn't think it would be wise to ask.
Instead, she settled on something else. It wouldn't make amazing conversation, but it might help towards it. "What is your name, if you don't mind me asking?".

Sarabi sat down then, nodding as she explained where they were going, and about their friend who was sick. Her eyes showed concern for the Palui, but she smiled when she said that he was a funny one. There was a momentary silence before the blue Palui asked a question. "Sarabi," she responded, a smile lighting her face. Her tail twitched once. "And yours?"

Sarabi... Lexie thought, sounds like a Desert. It must have been Sarabi's colouring that influenced that thought too. She was a browny orange, more brown though. In fact, she might actually remind some of a Savannah. "I'm Lexie" She replied, relaxing her hind legs and sitting down. It was only now that she realised that her legs ached a little bit, and she began to feel bad for making Helios walk so far without a break. She sudden wave of discomfort momentarily made her ears droop slightly, but Lexie immediately straightened them back up, then swivelled one round so she could hear what was going on behind her.

Sarabi nodded to the young Palui and smiled at her. "Nice to meet you." Sarabi curled up on the ground as she talked, relaxing her paws and legs for the time being. She looked at the young Palui, noticing the change in her posture and expression. Sarabi tilted her head, wondering what was wrong. Then she looked to Lexie's companions and understanding came through her mind.

Helios immediately flopped onto a nearby patch of grass, knowing that the faint smell of smoke was nearly there to comfort them, if they just walked a little bit further. It was a comforting thought, although he had no intentions of having to walk anymore any time soon.
Helios remained totally oblivious to Sarabi for quite a few moments, before yawning and deciding to approach her. She didn't have a tuff of hair at the top of her head. Nor did Sarabi have one big fluffy tail. She had short hair on her tail, but long hair on the end. Helios stared intently at her tail. It looked like a playtoy.... The red palui swiftly put his paw on the end of her tail as fast as he could, and pounced on it like a cat onto a mouse. "RAWR!"

Lexie smiled back at Sarabi in reply, the slight discomfort playing on her muzzle. But the guilt she felt for Helios was short lived when he seemed to appear from nowhere and pounce on Sarabi's tail, letting out a loud 'Rawr!' as he did so, making Lexie jump out of her skin and whimper in surprise. The shock was partly from Helios purely surprising her, and partly from the horror that rushed through her when she realized he had actually pounced on Sarabi's tail, obviously not knowing what it was. Lexie couldn't help but feel sorry for Sarabi, having all this fuss over her tail.
Lexie then regained her posture, and calm, then scowled at Helios. "Helios! You really shouldn't pounce on other Palui's tails! Especially if you've only just met them!" She scolded, hoping that Sarabi hadn't been offended.
