Well, at this point, it seems like I'm the only one who checks the boards with any great frequency (two or three hopeful times a day) and I don't even have a thread to run in my shamefully massive amounts of spare time.
In accordance with my name, I can tell you anything about the HB universe that has been published. I'll even give you different accounts based on the movies or the comics.
Why did Hellboy initially start filing his horns? What was the original owner of the Right Hand of Doom? What are the names of the Ogdru-Jahad?
Challenge me. I have too much time on my hands.
(ANSWERS (highlight to see): 1.) Because people were always too fascinated by them. Some people would even reach out and touch them. 2.) A "Watcher," also called an Angel. He is the same angel who created the Ogdru-Jahad. 3.) Amon, Adad, Namrat, Iraa, Nunn, Beuu, and Nergal. Nergal is the only one mentioned in the first film by name. He is the father of Samael.)

Ah, a resident guru of sorts. I'll bite...
Since you suggested it, who was the original owner of the Right Hand of Doom?
(P.S. I'm trying to check the boards everyday now, been busy with work, but I'm around every day for the most part now. I'll work on posting more, and still want to get into a little RP action in the future. So don't feel all alone out there in Forum land my friend)

Mo J - BPRD Who was the original owner of the Right Hand of Doom? You'll have to highlight it, I don't feel like spoiling everything for everyone. : The original owner was an Watcher, or Angel, sent by God to keep tabs on Earth when it was new. This Watcher (Who was named Anum) was the first rebel. He "dared to reach into the sky and steal a handful of God's power." (From Lobster Johnson 1). He lifted his right hand and created the Ogdru-Jahad, but it was not alive. The other angels put magic (or whatever they call it, Vril) around the monster(s). When nght fell, the Ogdru-Jahad came alive. The angels put it/them in its/their crystal prison. Anum was punished, and turned into a statue. The right hand of the statue, the hand that created the Ogdru-Jahad, is the only remaining part of Anum.

HIGHLIGHT IT TO READ: Abe was born a human (an American) named Langdon Everett Caul. He was a really rich guy from back in the Victorian era (Mid 1800s to 1900ish) and he liked sailing and the ocean. He was in this club of rich guys (The Oannes club) who had all these inventions and stuff. Well, they made a submarine and Caul went down to the sea floor in a scuba suit and he found this rock that was actually a sort Jellyfish god thing. He brought it back but he didn't really know what it was. Back with the other scientists, he said an incantation of something, and then the god made him pass out and he slowly started to turn into the loveable fish man he is today. His friends put him in a tank and left him there while he slept. He didn't have any memory of that, but when he found out about his old life he learned he'd had a wife and stuff. He was really depressed for a while and quite field work. He worked at a desk or something for the BPRD for a while after that.Of course, that's all comic-book Abe. There may be differences in Movie-Abe.

Hell Boy V2 wow. so is he like Imortal then? Not immortal per se, but he hasn't aged since he was pulled out of the tank he was found in. Then again, fish don't show age in ways that we laymen can really notice, but he's still active and intelligent. For instance, did you know that there has never been a recorded case of a shark dying of old age? They only seem to die of disease or injury, so it's theoretically possible that they live forever. That may be how it is with Abe, or he could drop dead the next day. On a somewhat related note, if you look at Abe's teeth in the movies, his teeth are in the same pattern as those of a Dunkleosteus, which leads me to think he's supposed to be a predator fish-man as much as a prey fish-man.

Danah-Hime What was most of Liz Sherman's childhood consisted of? I'll lay it out like a timeline. My knowledge is comic-based here, but Liz is essentially the same in the movies as the comics. 1962- Born in Kansas ~1973- Pyrokinetic powers kick in. She burns down a whole block and kills 32 people. This includes her mother, father, and brother. Flashbacks indicate that she spent some time after that in in a fireproof room where she was brought food by people in suits. She had little or no human contact until she met Hellboy, whom she befriended. '73-'78- Grey area. The short story "Burn, Baby, Burn" in Odd Jobs is one authors take on possible events that I have accepted to be a reasonably summary of Liz's travels. ~1979- BPRD encounter that convinces her to join. She joins. A few years ago- I've forgotten the years for this. She left the BPRD to learn to control her powers completely. She spent two years in a monastery in the Ural Mountains. She stays there for two years until some monsters kidnap her and then Abe, Roger, and Johann save her. Present Day- Member of the BPRD in Colorado, USA.Highlight the above chunk of space.
