i thought i'd put both in one thread instead of making 2 separate ones.

okay, so are there any good natural shaving products? i currently use venus razors and shave gels such as envi and skintimate.

also, any good natural face wash/acne solutions?

I use Alba shaving cream as it comes in a recyclable squeeze tube.

For razors, I use Preserve. They're not as good as the disposable Gilette ones, but I rarely shave so it doesn't bother me.

For facial cleanser, I use Dr Hauschka. It was super expensive ($45 for the bottle) but I wanted to treat myself and it's lasted for a few months. Dr. Hauschka uses all organic fro-frou ingredients that are harvested by specific lunar cycles (or something).

But, for acne solutions, I highly recommend Perfect Skin or Omega + glow. I've used perfect skin for months now and there's a huge difference in the look and texture of my skin. I love it. No nasty side effects like accutane or tetracycline. If you're looking for more in depth look at skin issues, try reading the Clear Skin Diet book.

(whoo! Six links in one post. I think that's some sort of record.)

I bought a shaving bar from Bunny Butt Apothecary. I love it so much! I works well, leaving your skin smooth all day and the smell is just yummy!!

And for your razor, they say if you keep it dry after you shave, it's supposed to last way longer because there's no moisture on it to rust it.

I think I must buy that clear skin diet. eek Being 25 and still having breakouts that make me look like a 16 year old is not good for my self-esteem.

The worst is my back, where I get cystic acne. The worst outbreak was 5 of them at once. PAINFUL!

I'm 22 and I still get zits, too. crying Not as bad as I did what I was younger, but still bad enough.

I hear you - I'm 25 and still have bad skin. It absolutely sucks when girls younger then me pig out on McD's and smoke, drink and party and have baby skin. Argh! scream gonk And here I am eating organic food, exercise, rah rah.

I recommend buying the book as I ended up underlining a lot of information and I will certainly be referencing it in the future. There's also diet plans. Also by the same author - The Brain Diet Book

It sounds interesting. What's the guy's outlook on saturated fat?

From the book description:
Quote:
Startling research in the journal Food Review shows that today a full 50 percent of the vegetables we eat consist of the trimmings on a hamburger and a side of fries.

So true - and so ridiculous.

...And fries can't even be properly counted as a 'vegetable.'

I'm 28 and I just had a break out like I was back in my teens. It's mostly do to stress of moving and my up coming period: P

I've been using tea tree oil soap on my face for my morning showers. Tea tree is said to keep your face from being less oily.

I use Gilette Mach 3 razors (mostly because I like that only the head is thrown away) with Veganu soap to shave with. The soap is pretty moisturizing and better than everything except for a cocoa butter soap that I used to have (I stopped using it because it had pertroleum derivatives in it).

As for acne, I found that when I stopped using acne products I stopped breaking out so much.. I used to get terrible acne, so I'd use two different masks four times a week each, plus astringent every morning and night and I washed my face three times a day. Over the course of two years I tried every acne treatment I could get my hands on. Then I just got tired of them and stopped using them altogether, along with my concealer. My acne cleared up within a month and now I rarely get breakouts. Now I wash my face once a day or so and rub fresh aloe vera on my face and shoulders (I get shoulder breakouts sometimes) once a week. Aloe vera's great ^^

I might be weird but I actually like the smell of tea tree oil. I use that on my face. Just dab some on a cotton ball then on my face. I'll also dilute some either in shampoo or in my vinegar rinse for my hair.

Hehehe, thanks! I wasn't sure if I sounded overly pushy/mother like. :3

I like tea tree oil too. For those who have cats - tea tree is poison like eggs to the Nome King. (Very poison.)
