itachi was being eaten by disease he knew he was going to die. But he loved sasuke alot thats why he could never kill him. But itachi also knew with madara still alive sasuke wouldnt be safe thats why he did what he did so sasuke would have the tools to live.
but sasuke is still screwed. he has killerbee's bro the leader of the thunder country out to get him, the leaf village, akatsuki (if he betrays em) and kabuto (kabuto wants to kill sasuke for kill orochimaru) and if sasuke does attack konoha and some how kill danzo or the elders then konoha and any off konoha's allies sand village and any other allies will also be after sasuke. that is if sasuke lives after fighting the most of konoha thens there's naruto and saruka i dont think sasuke will be able to kill em evem if he wanted to.
soo if sasuke decides to stay with akatsuki then he has killerbee's bro, kabuto and if he does what he told tobi(in ch 316) then the leaf village and leaf allies.
if he leaves akatsuki and joins leaf but dosnt kill danzo or the elders then he has killerbee's bro, kabuto, akatsuki and possible even the rain village cause pein controlls the rain village(or at least some of it)
