Silvrendir blushed and blinked up at the tomcat shyly. "Really?" he asked softly, hesitantly, a slow smile spreading over his face. "Why is that? Is there something special about angels?"
Where he had come from - no, where he had grown up (since he was originally from this world, he supposed) - angels were common and everyday. Perhaps not angels like himself (though indeed there was another like him in the family) but angels in general.

Unr smiled again and squated down on his hauntchs. The cats around him almost gasped. They never saw him do that, not even to his own kits. Suddenly the village knew just how important Silver was, and bowed low to him.
Nodiea chuckled softly and nudged Rengeki to look around. He chuckled as well, then focused his attention back to Unr and Silver.
"Yes... something is very special about you, but something happened we do not speak of that stopped the flow of Angels through here. You should have had an easy ride here, but people have forgotten the way things used to be during Ascensions," he said, letting out a sigh. He should his head. Things had changed.... and not for the better.
"You will need safe passage to the elves. Kile, Pau, come here," he called. Two slim tigresses walked over. They were tall, and lanky, but every movement showed the power and strenght in their muscle. They had the same red hair and blue eyes and looked like twins.
They bowed the the Chief. "You called, Father?" they said in unison. Unr nodded.
"You are to accompany the young Master Angel Silvrendir, Princess Nodiea, and Prince Rengeki to the elves. You will stay with Silver until his quest is done, for the Manakete Royals must go home during that time. Do not worry about the elves; tell them I personally sent you if you have questions.
"Silvrendir, I grant you full passage across the river. Be at ease, and travel swiftly. May the stars guide you on your way. Trena." Chief Unr bowed low to Silver again before walking away. The twins stared at Silver for a moment, but gave a small smile and walked toward the bridge.
"Let's make haste."

Silvrendir was shocked by the sudden turn of events. He had known that his friends would have to leave him, but ...
"You don't have to go home quite yet, do you?" he squeaked to Nodiea and Rengeki. He wasn't quite sure he liked the idea of being handed off so easily to complete strangers.

Nodiea and Rengeki looked at each other for a moment. It was getting close, unfortunately... Nodiea shook her head sharply as Reng when to open his mouth, and spoke quietly to Silver.
"No, not yet, Silver. And Kile and Pau wont let you get hurt, tomcat pride and all. Plus, Unr sent his daughters with us. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't know that you would be in good hands, and that it would impress upon the elves how important you are," she said, hoping to quell some of the fear in the Angel.
Truth be told, Nodiea didn't exactly trust the tigresses. They were loyal to their father only, and only his word would keep them from turning on the poor boy. There wasn't much she could do, though. She had to return home... whether she wanted to or not.
The group crossed the bridge in little less than fifteen minutes and continued a quick pass across the plains.

Silvrendir still felt uneasy, but he kept it to himself. He didn't want to complain too much ... his friends had already done so much for him, he didn't want to make things harder for them than it already was.
He only hoped that the end of his journey was near. He was missing his family so much ...

A few days passed of hard riding, and the group did not come across any trouble. The grasslands lushed out and grew greener as they galloped towards the ever growing forest. At the forest's edge the group stopped. The Manakete royals got off of their horses.
Nodiea smiled at Silver as her brother transformed. "You will be alright, Silver. You are an Angel and one of the only ones to come to this world for many a centuries. The elves are old, and still know the old ways. They will understand what you are. Take care and I will see you once you have Ascended." The Princess kissed his cheek before climbing on her brother and the two Royals flew off towards the distant mountains.
Kile and Pau looked at Silver before walking into the forest. "Come, Master Angel. The elves await you," they said together. The horses were to be left out side, and Silver was going to have to follow on foot.
His journey was almost done. Just one simple task awaited him until he could go home...

After so many days of travel, Silvrendir was exhausted, but he fought not to let it show. He had to blink back tears as his dear friends left him, and he gave Nodiea a tight hug before letting her go. Still, he had always prided himself on his stoicism, and once the manaketes were gone, he took a deep breath and nodded at the tigresses.
"I'm coming," he said softly. And, forcing himself to place one foot in front of the other, he followed after them, holding his bag tightly at his side.
