 I'm not sure if this is allowed here, but I just received an email about a Gothic and Lolita gathering at the Metreon Mall in San Francisco. I made a little thread about it in the Conventions forum.
Go Look!
The will also be releasing the third English Bible at the party, apparently weeks before the stores get them.

Oh, I so wish I could go! I live only an hour away from SF by train, and I'm going up every weekday for acting lessons anyway. How I wish I had a real dress. Such is life. *melodramatic sigh* Not that my mother would be terribly enthusiastic about the prospect, either.

Oh, happy day! My mother has given me permission to attend! (Though I have no proper Lolita and will have to go Aristocrat.)
Is anyone else here going, that we might have a bit of a Loli Society recognize-and-curtsey moment? (I shall be recognizable by my tophat, blue clockwork brooch, and ridiculously long blonde-brown hair.)
I seem to be ending everything with a parenthetical interjection. (How odd)

It wasn't that well planned, and alot of people arrived late because someone jumped in front of the BART train so it was running late T-T But there was a small shop there, and a cookie making contest, and everyone was very nice to talk to ^-^; And @ Prodigal Daughter, was this you in the white shirt and top hat, next to the girl in the swirly dress in the middle? She seemed to fit your description...

Yep, that's me. I look.... like a fool. Anyway. Would I have recognized you? Are you in the photo?
It was a lot of fun. It seemed odd to me that the "Showcase" was geared towards people who didn't know much about the style, which made the long Q&A a wee bit tedious.
I really ought to have entered the cookie contest. >.<;;

I was the girl slouching in the white dress with colorful swirls...
And yes, it was quite sad that most of the people watching the 'showcase' knew more than the dragon lady that was explaining things...the contest was cute. I can't believe there was a boy there, that actually dressed up (the one who asked about boy clothes during the fashion showcase)! He changed into normal clothes after the party though (well, sort of normal, he was wearing a girl's cutsew blouse)...heh. Several girls were drooling over him when we went out to dinner ^-^||

Oh, I loved your dress, you hardly ever see patterns like that! I actually almost commented on it, but I'm ridiculously shy IRL....
The group that kept shouting out corrections was hilariously awesome. Makes me think I need an LJ, just so I can join EGL.

Unfortunately I was still in San Diego and was unable to attend! I did get back early enough to go to the SF Renaissance Faire that Sunday.
Do you think they will have another Lolita party? Do you think this one was sucessful enough to warrant another?
