Okay, hello there everyone. I'm pretty new to the guild, yet I am not new to role playing. I noticed the sub-forum on Profiles, and how it said to make one of these first. Does that mean that before we join ANY role play in the guild, we have to post the profile in our forum there? It has been bugging me for days so I decided to make this.

You don't 'have' to, but it is strongly recommended before you start. Making a character profile helps you and other people to know what your character can do. If there is a story guide, it helps them to know how far to push you and the group without ending up with a bunch of dead and unhappy players. With other players is helps them to see what you can do, and get to know your character a little better.
Don't get it wrong, but the profile is also there to help you out as well. It can help you stay in character (staying with what you character would do, like if you took a vow to never kill, and suddenly start killing everything, that would be out of character for you). It is also helpful for in some cases you may do something and other people might go 'hey, you can't do that' (within reason of course), you could then bring up you profile and say, "it was there before we started." Of course you do need to show wisdom and reasoning about this as well. No instant death, instant hit powers. That would be kinda cheesy. cheese_whine

In other RP's people post their profiles as their first post in the RP itself, or send it to the RP starter and he/she/it posts it in the profile list post for all characters. But I guess the way you have it is pretty nifty since you can see what characters people play with and PM them to ask if they'd like to RP with a specific character that you read of theirs that seem to fit with your own.
