Since this is a Gaia related thread, I thought I should dump it in here.
One of the admins gave a panel at ComicCon tonight and showed some rejected concepts from previous monthly items. In the 'what might have been' area of the Black Ops item, there was a Gaian holding a mini gun with a big a** barrel of belt fed ammo strapped to his back.
There is a chance this might make a future cut. I heard a lot of cheers go up when the Black Ops slides were shown.
And, once I have some time to edit and post some images, I'll regale you with other more real world weaponry I got to see while in San Diego.

OberFeldwebel My guess on what they would have done to make the item. With barrel version. The second image is almost perfect. What they showed at the panel was a sketch. So this might be within 99% of what the final Special Ops mini gun could look like if they release one in the future.

Yeah I half assed the image. If I did some more work I would have cut out part of the minigun to show the arm wrapping around it.
