I would go with fire and dark. I chose fire because I have always had a connection with it. I've always been attracted to flames and the power that they hold. When I see the fire or feel its heat, it sometimes makes this energy rise inside me. The energy itself is hard to explain, but it's exicting, happy, and makes me feel free. To be able to harness and control the wild power and energy of fire would truly be a blessing. I chose dark because the dark calms me. Not necessarily the dark while I'm in a room and the lights are out; I mean night, the dark sky, the stars, the moon. When I see it, it just calms me so much. The quiet of the night, where you can just hear the trees rustling and all the nature around you, and the quiet of the dark inside, where you have to trust your senses to guide you, and you become intune with yourself. My Zodiac sign is Leo, and I think (I'm not sure) that the Leo sign relates to the fire element.

Earth and water.
I tend to spend my time outside, by a lake. Just something about ducks and trees and water that gives me a relaxing and calming sensation. Water just flows like my emotions do.

I think that ice and water should be separate. The reason why is because ice is spawned by a cold temperature. Fire opposes ice. There is more than one kind of ice and all of them are caused by the same thing. therefore Ice should be an 8th element.
Now, as for my element of choice, I am definately Dark... and maybe something else. The reason why I think so is because light makes me feel weak and hurts my eyes whereas darkness makes me feel strong and healthy and I can see quite well in the dark. The other element is possibly water, as I feel calm in and/or near a body of water, especially the ocean.

Water: it isn't confined to a single place... it adapts. It has duality. It may not always be reliable, but it has a great untapped power that can be discovered through constancy. It is often closely related with life and healing.
Fire: it is strong. It is a beacon to those around it. It has the ability to sterilize other things and make them pure or clean. It is mesmerizing in its beauty and dances without shame for as long as it exists. Despite its power, it is still dependent on other objects to fuel it, suggesting that it need not always stand alone.

Fire and air.
Fire, becauseof the power it holds, as well as it's ability to cleanse.
Air, for it's freedom and flexibility.
As for ice and water being seperate, what is ice? Frozen water. Water's Fire's opposite anyways.
However, I do disagree with lightning being classed seperately from air. Without air there would be no lightning. Lightning is only super-heated air.
