"You sure you got everything, Miss-"

"Yes."

"All your books? Know it's just the first day 'n' all, bu-"

"Do you doubt my ability to shop for school supplies?"

"N-no, Lil' Miss, just don't wan'ch'a missin' somethin', that's all, honest!"

"If you are through with the meaningless stalling my mother undoubtedly put you up to, I must be on my way."

The man palled, pulling at his lopsided tie as if it suddenly prevented him from drawing in a proper breath, grungy teeth flashing sheepishly in an awkward grin. Dominique rolled her eyes, grabbing her bag as she opened the door to the limo. Of course the driver hadn't come around yet, most likely waiting for a signal from the thug before doing anything. By the time she'd gotten both feet out of the door though, the man in black was there, holding the door needlessly with a low bow. Pointless.

Gozinki made as if to follow her out of the vehicle before pausing at the door, the sunlight shinning on his balding scalp as he fully thought about what he was about to do. All three were surveying the area. Students were being dropped off, some just waltzing into the building, others pausing to say their farewells to what was guessed to be family and whatever type of servant that had accompanied them that morning. All were far more presentable than the mob lacky, though the basically "butler with a gun" was her father's left-hand man. Right hand was another individual, far more slick and fine-dinning material than this one.

Turning slightly towards him, she smiled lightly, albeit strained. It was growing more and more tiresome for her father's goons to follow her constantly in public. "I am sure you would agree that your presence is no longer required?" He nodded dumbly, eying someone's brilliant sports car as it sped off away from the school. "Then you are dismissed until it is time for me to return home." Slamming the door in his face, she settled the messenger bag over her shoulder, smoothing out her dress before pacing evenly towards the school.

For being a hunk of rock and basic building materials... the closer she got, the more intimidating it slowly became. Not because of its sheer size and therefore promised hallways and rooms -she'd memorized the map, thanks-, but rather the sheer number of students that were entering. How strange. Apparently being in public without the goons was actually more prominent than she'd anticipated. Or perhaps that was just the fact she was a mob boss' daughter biting her in the a** right now- anti-social tendencies tended to come with such dark territory.

The laughter and greetings around her was startling, and more than once she had to close her eyes briefly to keep from losing her composure and steady gate as she weaved and slipped through the halls towards her classroom. Alright, so she hadn't remembered everything perfectly- she'd paused once to ask an upperclassmen for directions, only to smile brightly in thanks and relief that at least she wasn't heading in the wrong direction. Just taken a hall too soon, that's all.

...now what?

Standing just inside the room, again she was struck with the lack of familiarity she held for this place. For people in general, really. Everyone was... talking. To... each other. Friends called out to one another, reserving seats or pushing desired bodies into the seats. The hand over the strap to her bag tightened on unconscious reflex. She didn't have someone calling out to her like that, waving her down to sit and chat and be friendly. Normally, she'd wake up, get dressed, have breakfast... then sit next to her brother when their private lessons began. No travel necessary. No extensive walking or searching or dealings with the outside world.

Her robotic feet drew her up along side an empty desk in the front row, directly next to the gaping windows. Sitting, she shoved her bag under her chair and waited, hands linked atop her desk patiently, chocolate gaze locked on the front of the room where she wished a teacher would just magically appear to call the class to order. Out of the corner of her eye she watched as her classmates walked in and out of the room, none seeming able to settle for more than a moment before racing off to speak to someone else they knew.

She really had to speak to her parents about letting her and Seiji out of the house more often. And into the rich public for once.

First days. First impressions. Fluttering nerves in sync with fluttering new uniforms.

Needless to say, being uncomfortable was the freshman norm and Aya fell into tradition, pulling the collar of her newest attire. It was no improvement from the black uniform from the previous school year. As far as first impressions went, she felt it left a lot to be desired and did not have much hope that it would become much better anytime soon.

Then again, it was time to adapt. A new swing in the step…was not going to happen. She woke up tired, still not use to waking up this early in the morning. It did not help that she ignored the fact she HAD school tomorrow and decided to finish of a choice piece of yet-to-hit-the-shelves literature the night before.

Groggy, she was dropped off with cheery last words of enthusiasm and best wishes from her chauffeur (which only got a vague wave of acceptance from her) before she stepped out of the car and into High School life.

Once the car was gone, she diverged from the main flow of students heading inside and sidestepped around the building. True, she was new, but every building of THIS level of class had a garden and she already spotted the topiary majesty of the gardens peeking from manicured hedges. It was probably a very unorthodox sight to see a freshman not rush to the main doors, but she was not about to start ‘normalcy’ now. Personal tradition stated that much.

Non-traditional, as to have her hair not be the curls and lavish designs crafted for today’s first impressions, instead to only have the trouble of a comb to be run through and her hair to fall into her face whenever she didn’t take the time to pull it every 20 minutes or so. To also dot herself, not in Tiffany and diamond studs, but a purple bead bracelet that kept slipping down her thin wrist. Then there was the fact that she also was scooping the place out before class, not inside, but outside. Not with a designer handbag, but one well-worn notebook, edition 246, though not to be mistaken for her 246 notebook.

Polished soles clacking, she made her way through the intertwining cobblestone paths for the school to make a good first impression on her. THEN she would decide if she would do the same.

Sliding the door to classroom 2B open as quietly as possible Miho slipped inside. Dropping her book bag beside a seat and dropping into it Miho sighed quietly. During the beginning days of first year she remembered thinking to herself that this year would take forever. Yet here she was at the beginning of her second year, the first year seeming to have passed in the blink of an eye.

So many things had happened and she had been so busy that the days had just flown by. Now, she thought with a soft smile to herself, there never seemed to enough time in the day to get done all she had to get done.

Digging through her bag to pull out necessary items for her desk she shook her head. On her way through the halls she had seen quite a few groggy eyed students. Especially the first years who weren't used to being up this early. On the other hand she had already been up for several hours, putting the last touches on plans for a dinner party for that night.

Now that school had started such plans had to be made before heading to school for she by the time she made it back home set up for the party would have already started. After the party ended she would have a few hours to complete her homework before collapsing into bed. Only to repeat a similar schedule the next day.

Everything in place she leaned her head gently against her hand and glanced around the classroom. Familiar faces met her eyes, though there had been changes since first year. Tarii now wore glasses, and Satu... Miho blinked, peering closer at him, were those pink streaks in his hair?

A slight chuckle escaped. Well now, that was certainly unusual.

Brushing her own hair out of her eyes she allowed herself a rare moment of rest and simply let her mind wander as she waited for class to start.
