Speaking of canning, I have grapes ready to go, and I am having trouble finding jars and stuff! I guess I am going to have to make some juice and freeze it till I can find some. I guess the stores around here forget that in the fall you can still can. Wild apples are also all over the place.
Sorry for the rant, but I am a little frustrated stressed

that gets me too! unless you order online, you pretty much only fine canning supplies late spring/summer time.

It has become tradition that my guinea pigs friends receive gift baskets of baked goods for christmas. [:

Well I lucked out. Tonight I found some jars and pectin at a Fred Meyer (local retail and grocery store). I need to find out if they have them year round or if maybe I need to stock up (I bought 2 boxes of half pints tonight).

I think i might check walmart today. I remember seeing a nice canning pot there and some jars still left a few weeks ago. If anything it's either on clearance by this point or it's all gone.

I would love to try my hand at canning. My craft job sells glass bottles with the tin sealer lids just for canning.
