This is just a little game to try out. Select a character. Describe them a bit. And then put them in a situation. The next person to post has to write a small paragraph about how the character previously created would react to the situation.
And then they leave their own situation for the next person to write a reaction to.
Kind of like this?
Ruby: likes to read books, is afraid of bugs, is nervous and frightened easily, enjoys origami, plays tennis
Situation: Ruby creaked her eyes open. She rubbed out the crust with her long bony fingers and squirmed uncomfortably in her bed. Her entire body was unbearably itchy. She lifted her blanket drowsily and her eyes widened in horror as realized that there was a swarm of ants infesting her bed.
So, the next person writes her reaction. You know, does she jump out of bed and whack the bugs away with her tennis racket? Does she scream and run out of the room? Or does she barrage her bed with books and anything else she can find? And after writing what Ruby does, just create a new character and a new situation for someone else. ^^

Hahaha, this sounds fun! Let's see, ants swarming all over her bed? Well... we'll come up with a reaction for that, it's good practice. Ruby screamed and bolted from her bed. She gaped open mouthed at the ants, wondering how they got there. She tore into the living room to find nobody home, the curtains were drawn back, the lights switched off. As she moved trembling to the table, she found a note: Gotcha! How does she react to this? *Giggles* I think that's hilarious, well... your turn!

After reading the note, she reacts and says out loud: Quote: My God! I can't believe I didn't see this coming! My old nemesis "Womandork" is out to get me. Better think of something fast... When should we start with a new character by the way? neutral

In the same post as your reaction to the old character.

Ok, I seem to have missed this one completely. Let's refresh what we're talking about here.
It's about character reactions, right? What about what people think of one another? Talking about things like that could actually help me because, here we go again, my pirate is favoured highly by his crew. I know not all of them are going to love him, but because he's generous, fun and fair, most of the crew think his fantastic.
However, there's also the other side of the coin with people isn't there? Anyone know the term "familiarity breeds contempt?"

Well, this topic was created by Calimouse for us to think of characters and an action in particular so that other members could post another character and a reaction they could have on the action of the previous character.
I suppose we could also discuss about reactions in certain situations depending on our characters. I gotta say that the term you mentioned seems familiar Mel. Not sure though... mrgreen

Mmm....yeah. No offence Hypno, but I seem to be clearing up every single comment and question you put on here (I mean the guild as a whole). I can't keep doing research on such things when people can easily put a few words into Google and find out the answer before attempting to discuss anything further.
Additionally, as much as I appreciate you posting as regularly as you do, I wish other people would do so as well. This is a part of what I said you know. "Familiarity breeds contempt" is a very well-known saying although others might know it in a different form/phrase.
If you spend too much time in someone's company it can get to you and make you start resenting them for want of a better word. I'm getting to the stage in my life now where I just want to have my own life with a decent job, where I am able to go on holidays and go sailing at will and be completely free of dependence from my parents. The fact that I can't right now is making me feel cramped, and constantly being around my parents is making things difficult because I'm always around them unless I am away sailing.
Likewise, you're posting a lot and at a guess, eight out of every ten posts are probably yours. Most of what you say seems to go far off track when replying to a post I've made. They often have nothing to do with a question or comment I've made. The amount of them is that high that it's beginning to bug me, purely because so few others are posting. This is a case of familiarity breeds contempt - although I don't have ANY contempt towards you. It's only a turn of phrase, but that's the kind of thing that's included in it. It's not your fault at all (except perhaps the fact you need to reply to what I've said, and if you do, in more ways than one), it's more that others are posting so little...if that makes sense?
So, what about my question? (And that's to anyone).

I completely understand what you mean but, for some reason, I don't seem to get tired of your posts. I suppose it's cuz we're not all the same and there are folks, like myself, that can hang out with someone for long and don't have much problem. That's why the saying "Familiarity breeds contempt" didn't ring a bell with me at first.
I suppose I should just post whenever is absolutely necessary from now on cuz I certainly don't want to bore you or make you mad at me. sweatdrop I like this guild and that's why I've been visiting as much and it hurts to see that not many people are posting. It reminds me of my Konami Fan Club in a way...

It reminds me of my Konami Fan Club in a way... What I mean about posting, is to post when there's something you want to say. If there's not really anything you can answer to, then saying "I don't know what to say right now, I'll come back later" just seems rather pointless, that's all.
You never get tired of my posts huh? Well that's good to know. I usually have a lot to say on subjects I'm passionate about. smile
"Familiarity breeds contempt" has a lot more to say though. It changes with various different scenarios, and it depends on who's in what company (meaning group of friends, comrades, associates, etc...rather than that of an organisation).
Sorry if I came across as a bit harsh. I've had a rough couple of days....for reasons you know about on Facebook already Hypno.
