I finally found it for cheap but I don't know much about it yet. What are your opinions on it compared to other HM games? And any tips you have on playing it would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't be too excited...
I love the graphics in it, and the music. But as far as being compared to other games in the series it is quite lacking. It expands more on certain things, like making friends with the villagers or being friends with your dog, but then it fails in actual farming. You don't really do much farming. If you do then you don't have time to go befriend the villagers and complete the game within a year.
The new game+ feature is nice. Carry over all your animals and things you've acquired back to the beginning of Spring.
There's no heart scenes or starting a family. There might be hints of it in whichever path you choose to take in the game, as there are nine different endings, but you never actually see anything.
I'd say it's an alright game in it's own right.
And...I have no idea why but when I first saw Kurt in that game I seriously thought he was a girl. I don't know what I was on, but I kept thinking that until Joe called him a guy. I guess I had been watching too much anime or something.
Um, for actual tips, when you first start out go work at Bob's ranch. Pet the horses and put feed in the bins. Take as long as you can because the longer you stay, the more you're paid. It helps until you get on your own feet. Also, be careful about which horse you attend to first. Whichever one you do, one just like it will be delivered to you when Bob gives you your own horse. Which is really helpful cause you can ride it around town. Well, once you befriend it.
Make sure to put feed in the dog bowl every day too. It can even just be a weed that you put in there.

Man, I and I thought AnWL was bad. Where's the harvest moon in it... TwT At least I didn't waste any real money on it. It does seem a little boring, with only one year. That and when it gets a little dark, I can't see where I am and I'm stuck in some field somewhere. I'll probably go back to DS cute and MM.

I wouldn't put AnWL near the same level as StH...the only thing that I didn't like about it was her feet and how you had to fertilize the field...but mainly her feet. My god, what were they thinking???? They bug the hell out of me @_@
You should at least try the horse path though. I love the horse in that game ;D Probably because it finally had a use. The moving bin horse never really interested me...because of they move a lot. Especially in DS Cute. It's like my horse is on meth or something o_O

Actually, if you feed your dig weeds too much, it gets sick and Bob yells at you.
My favorite ending is the Bluebird one. I love playing the flute with Louis. heart It's kind of like Guitar Hero. And thte song's really catchy and cute. It's actually one of the easier ones to win. You just have to give Louis eggs everyday, get the flute, and go to the Lake on Satudays.

OnO StH is probably my most favorite harvest moon games XD As stated earlier, it's best to work at Bob's farm first. Especially since you not only get paid from it, but you also get a small milk AND 2 fodder when feeding the horses (there's spares just in case you accidently drop some). I'd say start with the endangered weasel ending. It's the easiest. That way, you can start earning money, planting crops, get chickens and cows, get a horse, get the house upgrade, get a dog house, and get a dog before you actually need them. Wait a couple endings before doing the horse race one. That way, you can get your horse up to 5 hearts, and it'll be much easier to beat Gwens time. By the way, she loves very berries.
Once you've earned some money with the first ending, I'd say go on to either the harvest goddess dress ending or the butterfly one. I say the dress one because by the time you've finished the first ending your cows and chickens should love you, and you should have at LEAST 4000g save. You'll need it to buy the thread. Also, giving eggs to Gina, blueberries to Dia, and flowers to Katie should help speed things up. It's also best to the the treasure hunt endings (theres two) for last since they're the most lengthy.
It really is a great game. And I luff it with all my heart! whee
