You somehow obtained the letter from Professor Thorn addressed to you personally. Here is what it said:Quote: Dear Shah Wallace,
I would like to introduce myself. I am Professor Thorn. I would like to ask a favor of you. I know this may sound weird, but hear me out, please. I own a little business and well, I am also a collector. I collect items that other people seem to find strange. I am needing you to find me one of those items.
The reason why I ask you, is because well, I feel we would get along great. Well, really, I feel that you have the qualifications needed to pull of this task. I need you to find me a simple bow. That's it, a bow. Any kind, I'm just needing a bow. You know, like bows little girls put in their hair? Yeah, those. I'm willing to give you a reward if you could possibly acquire a bow for me. Thank you for reading, and please, give this quest some thought.
-Professor Thaddias Thorn Now, the question is, will you do what the letter says?((What I need you to do is write up how you obtained the letter. The growth requirements can be found in the Welcome thread on the main forum or in the main thread. It can be done in however many posts you want. Also, I need a personalized journal entry from your guardian expressing their personal feelings on the deed needing to be done.))

Shah is a quick one, oh yes he is. When his work was done he was more then willing to hop on the next ride back home. Sadly things don't always go according to plan.
"JIN, ZEPH!! Will you shut the hell up for five seconds?!" Shah shouted into the pay phone as he rubbed his face with his free hand.
"AWWW!! Poor Shah, can't " "handle being alone?" "Should have sent you with Krisha," "seeing how you can't do anything without her!"
Within the small device two voices could be heard laughing up a storm and shouting, the two voices completing one another sentences as if they were one person. Shah released an aggravated sigh from his lips, Shah hated the twins. Who left them to pick up the phone anyway? Where was Lucien and Amos? Just as Shah thought that another voice was tossed into the mass but just as it entered there was what sounded like a battle for the phone before the line went dead.
"Hello? HELLO?!?!? Oh ******** god, WHAT THE ******** IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU?!?!" Shah shouted at the phone as he slammed it back onto its receiver. Bystanders stared at him in confusion and Shah responded like any normal human being would. 'WHAT THE ******** ARE YOU LOOKING AT?" he growled at them. Okay, perhaps not a normal human being...Either way the bystanders left him alone at that, shuffling away nervously as Shah rubbed his face as a way to bring down his temper. He didn't stay around the pay phone, just glancing at it made him want to rip it out of the ground. Actually, that wasn't a bad idea.
Shah walked away, hands in his jeans pockets as he tried to figure out what he was going to do. He had called to get a ride home seeing how everything he needed to get done was now done. Sadly the twins had picked up the phone, though Shah couldn't see how. Lucien had banned them from the phones and kept them hidden around the castle. Anyway, the conversation hadn't gone well and now that they had broken the phone Shah wasn't sure if he should call again or not. Lucien would be double checking the hiding places and because of that Shah was skeptical, he didn't want to stay here for too long but he defiantly didn't want the twins getting their hands on another phone. The last time that happened Krisha had to comfort a room full of scared civilians that there was no evil dark lord coming to steal their children.
Shah walked aimlessly, not really caring where he was going. It seemed he'd be here a while, until he couldn't stand this place any longer and called again. Until then Shah would make do with what he had, which wasn't a lot. As Shah walked he caught sight of a tiny fellow behind him, a small stocky guy with a scruffy face. He wore a big trench coat and eyed Shah with interest. Shah didn't like that, he didn't like that one bit and he was more then ready to do something about it. He turned, just slightly, to go over to the guy and give him a piece of his mind but just as he did so a smaller figure bumped into him. Shah had seen this done too many times, he grabbed the tiny figures arm in a steal grip.
It was a boy, a small boy about ten years old. He stared up at Shah in shock and fear. "Didn't expect to get caught?" Shah asked. A pick pocket, Shah knew how they worked. He had been one of them after all, though he was doing much worse things at the same time and making much more money. If this kid thought he was going to get off easy because of his age he was dead wrong. The way Shah saw it, the day you could wipe your a** was the day you were an adult.
Roughly, Shah upturned the kids hand only to see him hold a enveloped with a fancy red waxed seal. "What the--" But before he could finish he felt someone slam into him from behind. Shah toppled forward as the kid in his grasp twisted his arm away and made a mad dash with his friend. The other kid besides him, the one who had knocked Shah over, had his little chubby hands around Shah wallet. "You little bastards!!" Shah shouted at them, he glanced behind him to see if that stocky man from before was still there. Just as Shah expected, the guy was long gone. Shah swore under his breathe, the kids having disappeared into the crowd a little off as well.
Shah pushed himself up onto his feet and brushed the little dirt that had gotten on his cloth off. The few people around him kept to their business, only a few shaking their heads but none did anything. Shah didn't care, his eyes stared down at the thin envelope on the floor. It's red wax seal shining in the afternoon sun light. Shah bent down and picked it up, turning it over in his hand. Why would a pick pocket be holding a envelope? If it was important the kid wouldn't have left it behind. Shah shoved it into his pocket with a frown, he'd read it later.
As for now, he had some pick pockets to catch.

Dear Lovely,
First off, KEEP JIN AND ZEPH AWAY FROM THE DAMN PHONES!! It's hard enough talking to them in person, do you know the torture of speaking to them through a metal device?
Second, everything is set and done. I made the agreement and arrangements over here in Durem so we shouldn't have any problem.
Third, I got a ******** letter from some guy named Thaddias Thorn. This little brat tried to pick pocket me after I called, I caught him in the act but he got away and left the letter behind. The little b*****d had help but I still don't understand why he'd go through with giving me this letter. If anything the kid could have kept it and told someone about it and have that person pose as me to get the reward.
Anyway, the letter just says that this Thorn guy is a professor and a collector. He says that we'd get along well, I laughed at that. He wants me to get him a bow, a hair bow for little girls, and bring it to him. He says that I have qualifications for the task...what moron can't go and buy a bow? Some qualifications, I'm insulted by it. Either way, he says there's a reward and I'm all for that. I could use some extra cash while I'm over here.
He says to give this "quest" some thought but I don't see what there is to think about. Get the bow, get the reward and that's it. If I'm not happy with the reward then this Thorn guy won't know what hit him.
Anyway, how's it going over there? Better then me I'm sure. I caught those little pick pockets plus their boss. The guy was pretty well off for using a couple pick pockets. I'll be here for a couple days, see where this little "quest" takes me. Until then make sure those phones are on lock down, if I call again and Jin and Zeph pick up I'm tying Lucien and Amo's hair together in such a knot that they're be crying for their precious locks forever. I'm ******** serious. Your Stud Muffin, Shah ((NOTE: Shah doesn't keep a journal, instead his entries will be written as letters to his wife. :3 ))

Hey Baby,
I went off to get that bow for that Thorn guy today. I didn't buy it, I made an "exchange". And it's not the typical exchange you're thinking about.
I went into Durem looking for some type of clothing store that would sell these little baby girl bows. I'd go in and come out simple and easy. If anyone wanted to exchange baby stories with me I'd pop them a good one, I'm not buying this for a little girl. I mean, if this Thorn guy's some type of child molester, fine with me. I don't care, give me my reward and that's it.
I didn't exactly make it to any store. I walked past this children park where a bunch of little kids were playing. I don't know why, you know I hate kids. Little nose picking, snot eating, wet willy giving demons. The little brats were running all over the place, shoving and screaming. I guess I thought I'd get lucky and find some bow on the floor and take it. I did.
There was this little frizzy haired, red headed girl with buck teeth and a big mouth. Her hair was up in a fuzzball of a pony tail and she was screaming her head off about one thing or another. The pony tail was being held up by a blue bow, light blue bow that reminded me of you. So, I had to get it. The girl screamed one more time before running away from her parents, she left the park and turned sharply against the gate and moving a good distance down before slamming into me. She had been pulling off the bow, I assume that was what she was bitching about, so when she hit me it dropped to the floor.
"You don't like that bow?" I asked. Her parents were going to come around soon so I couldn't just grab the bow and run. She shook her head no and said something about it not being yellow, for some reason she liked the color yellow and if I hadn't cut her off she'd have kept on talking. "Can I have it?" I asked, you don't understand how hard it was for me to be so polite with such a brat. She had the whole victim act going for her, the little demon. What she said next kind of proves why I hate kids.
She stopped crying instantly, she had picked up the bow so she was twirling it in her hand now. "How much are we talking about?" Those were her exact words. I think I laughed at her I was so shocked, but then again it makes sense. She repeated herself again and this time I dropped my wallet in her hands. You should have seen her expression, like giving Jin and Zeph a chemistry kit. Of course, I had a reason for doing that.
Right when she handed me the bow I grabbed her by the arm, took back my wallet and shook her roughly, I pulled her back over to the entrance of the park where her parents were looking for her. I did the whole "Is this your daughter" act. They were so angry at the little brat for running off that they didn't listen to her complaints. They thanked me before walking away, the little girl screamed that she wanted her bow back but hell if her parents cared. She had been bitching about it before anyway.
So I got this light blue baby girl bow for free, only had to give those poor parents back that kid. Not as easy as going over and buying one but this one has more sentimental value. Now I just need to give it to that Thorn guy and I'll get my reward. I'll be back home in a few days. Once I meet up with this guy I'll call you again, keep those phones in check. Your Beef Cake, Shah

You awake the next morning, awaiting your reward that was spoken of the night before with Professor Thorn in the lobby. You wonder what it could be. Once you think you've had about enough of waiting, you hear a knock on the door. You jump up to see what could be awaiting on the other side.
You open up the door, and find a basket. What? As you look inside the basket you find a gorgeous baby girl wrapped in cloths. What could this be? Well, this is your reward! You find a note attached to the top of the basket handle. It reads:
Dear Shah,
I am glad you came to see us. I just wish it would have gone a little bit easier. But, nevertheless, I'm still happy. I'm sorry for making you wait, I hope that you have a great time with your reward! Please, take good care of her. She is obviously very cute. I hope you do see eye to eye with me from now on. Thank you once again. Have a great day.
-Professor Thaddias Thorn
Well, what a surprise! A girl!? That's the reward!? If you do have any questions, just go down to the lobby/lab and ask away! Have fun with your new baby girl!

Shah had had been snoozing peacefully on that couch, too peacefully actually. If he had the nerve to wake himself up he'd immediately get that uneasy feeling. The one he usually got when something bad was about to happen. But, alas!! He did not awake, he was too deep within his slumber to be awoken by petty instincts. Not now at least; it had been many nights since he had slept like this and he wasn't about to ruin it. Considering how his usual insomnia usually took place when away from home, this slumber was a gift. Whatever negative events that were going to take place mustn't be all that bad. There had to be some symbolism in his sleeping state, good symbolism hopefully. Perhaps the two would even each other out? In some way, maybe instantly or in the future? Most likely not, Shah doesn't have that type of good luck. At least, not that this narrator knows of.
As the sun slowly rose, it cast its morning rays through the closed blinds of the room. Shah's eyes parted open slowly only to hear the soft knock at the door. He groaned slightly, he wasn't a morning person in the least. Born in light but tormented to darkness, Shah was ready to kick the poor soul who dared knock. He stood up groggily, swaying gently as his eyes stayed shut from the light. He muttered a threat under his lips, his voice tired and grunt from his slumber. His long black, straight hair was tangled in knots as Shah rubbed the back of his head. He yanked the room door open hard and thrust his head out of the room. "What?" He asked angrily.
There was no one there. Shah looked around, not a soul any where down that long narrow hall. He noticed that there were a few other doors with names on the plates but a majority were blank. Shah glanced down, looking at a basket with what looked like a blush blue blanket covering the top. What was this? Shah took another glance around before picking up the basket and slamming the door behind him. He entered the room, still groggy, and dropped himself back on the couch. He was just about ready to go back to sleep. If that basket was his reward he'd take a look in it later on. It wasn't going any where.
Shah was just about to place the basket down on the floor when he felt something shift within it. It was very soft, ever so slightly did it move. He frowned at it. He brought it into his lap and stared at it for a few seconds. He raised his hand and poked it gently, touching something soft that squirmed under his touch. Shah's expression changed from annoyance to pure grief. What the hell was in that basket?
Quickly, Shah pulled back the blush blue blanket that covered it. What he found wasn't to his liking.
He stared down into the eyes of a pale, blue haired, blue eyed girl. Her stare was curious and silent. There was a hint of shyness to her, the way her eyebrows turned at the bottom. She laid there, staring up at Shah's shocked face with her own curious one. Shah allowed the blanket to slip out of his hand and onto the floor. Shah's eyes scanned to the basket's handle where a note neatly laid attached. He grabbed it quickly, tearing it open and reading it in desperate need for an explanation.
His reward? This was his reward? A girl...a baby girl... Shah glanced back down at her as she began to move around. The hood on her head slipped down gently, covering her eyes for a brief moment before her tiny pale hands slipped out from the sleeves of what looked like a poncho that she was wearing. She pushed the hood back up clumsily only to stare at Shah again. He was speechless, absolutely speechless. Was this some type of joke?
Shah's hands slipped inside the basket silently, grabbing the little girl not very gently and lifting her up to eye level. She showed no signs of discomfort, instead she continued to stare. Watching him as Shah held her at arms length, as if she had some horribly contagious disease. They stayed like that for a while, a minute or so. The two of them simply staring at the other as if waiting for something to happen. The little girls hood slipped forward, covering her eyes again. She hiccuped softly as her hands tried to push the hood up ********>

Shah paced back and forth quickly. The early morning shock wasn't good for him since now, after staring at the small child for nearly an hour, the poor man was talking to himself in hysteria.
"A kid!! A ******** kid!! NO! A baby!! Who does that Thorn guy think he is? ******** Santa Clause?" Shah growled, growing louder with each word. The small girl sat on the couch, her tiny legs and arms hidden within the blue poncho she wore. The hood now pulled back revealing long, straight, steel blue hair. Her head turned from side to side as she watched Shah pace. Such foul language he was speaking in front of the little girl!! One could only wonder why Thorn had picked him of all people.
"You don't drop babies off like nothing. You give a warning first. s**t man!! Even that's not good enough! A baby!! That's my reward?!? A freaking snot picking, diaper using, upchucking baby?!?!?" Shah paused now, staring at the little girl from across the room. She stared at him, her hand lifting up to rub her nose. "STOP STARING AT ME!!!" He shouted at her. The little girl cowered back, scared of him. Shah released a loud groan, covering his face as he began to pace again.
"Why me? Why the ******** did he choose me? I can't be a father, what the ******** do I have that even makes me the slightest bit qualified?!?" He asked himself, pausing again. His legs were far apart from one another as his hands gripped his head as if trying to slow himself down. His back hunched slightly as his legs appeared to be ready to buckle underneath him. "UGGGHHH!!! That meeting hadn't gone well!! He barely even said anything and I was obviously a jerk! Why the ******** did he give me this kid?!? He should have told me flat out no. I'd have listened, I'd have left." That was a lie, Shah would have punched poor Professor Thorn if he had refused to give him his reward. But, sadly, Shah needed to convince himself other wise for peace of mind.
He looked back over to the little girl, she was huddled against the couch now. Watching him still but obviously not as comfortable as she had been before. Shah spun around quickly and moved towards her. She watched him with fear as he picked her up. This time, however, he was much more gentle. "I can't be a ******** father. You're going back to Thorn, you don't want me a dad." Shah said to her, holding her up at eye level. She wiggled in his grip, scared. Shah's expression was one of paranoia. "Stop it!" He ordered, the tone of voice he used made her stop instantly. Shah sighed, he didn't like scaring this kid. Despite how he normally took a great deal of joy in scaring children he didn't want her to be scared of him even if he was returning her. The way he thought that, it made it sound like she was some type of rented DVD. Shah stared at her for a few more seconds, calming down slightly.
The little girls face began to scrunch up as she hiccuped again. Her eyes growing glassy as tears began to form out of fear. "OH ********> Shah said as that paranoia kicked in again. The little girl began to sob softly before they grew louder and louder. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Don't cry!" Shah said as he pulled her close, holding her against his chest as he gently pat her head. She continued to cry however. She wiggled again, trying to get away as Shah tried desperately to calm her down. He held her tightly as he pretty much ran in circles, he had no idea what to do. Shah eventually stopped and began to rock the little girl as he tried to think of what Krisha would do.
He rocked her gently, whispering to her softly. "Please, shut up. Please shut up." He whispered in a type of sing song way. Slowly but surely the little girl calmed down, her eye lids growing heavy as she stared up at Shah. She was tired from crying, tired from trying to get away. Shah continued to rock her softly while whispering to her until she finally fell a sleep.
Why had he decided to give him this kid? Shah couldn't raise a kid if someone held his hand every step of the way. If God some how gave him all the skills and knowledge on how to raise a child, Shah would still ******** it all up. Shah hated his childhood, it was a living nightmare. Who's to say this girls wouldn't be the same? No, he'd never do that to her or anyone for that matter. Shah's a mean guy but he would never do such horrible things to a child. No one deserved that type of treatment, he'd never let anyone do that to her or anyone else. Shah stood there, silent, staring at the little girl yet again. Shah didn't understand any of this. Why him? Of all the people in this world, why had he chosen him? What the ******** did Thorn see in him that wasn't in everyone else? What the ******** did Thorn see? The meeting had been bad if not down right horrible. He had made that girl, Layla, cry. That had to stand for something! Shah wasn't meant to raise kids, he wasn't made for it.
But then again, he had been able to calm her down despite how he had made her cry. He had calmed her and put her to sleep without knowing what he was doing exactly. He stared at her, the little girl turned on her side in his arms. A soft, childish sigh slipped from her lips as she slept.
"I can't do this." Shah said, moving out the room fast. He'd give her back to Thorn and let him give her to someone else. Someone that could deal with having a kid if not do a better job then him. Shah wasn't made for this s**t.
